Thanks cambridge for setting all of this up, having two indoor courts is great for winter tournaments, it would have been grim playing all weekend outside in the drizzle. Also, big thanks to Ciaran for subbing in for us on such short notice, was great playing with you.
Well won by Hooks, they were incredible to watch, as was everyone else.+1, thanks Ciarán for subbing, and the Cambridge guys for the tourney, had a really good weekend!

the trophy in front of my cosmic chimney before we take it to Guidoline on Wednesday. We love it ! It was a damn good idea to come by car though :)

Thx Cambridge - your preparation and thoughtful hosting is always appreciated and makes the journey worthwhile.
Always enjoy Hooks, whether watching or attempting to play against. Totally agree on the MVT for B.Right.On - terrific performances all weekend.
Would it be too controversial to suggest that MCRs only team at Cambridge totally owned Scotland... ;-)

Thanks all that made this tournament and the National Series happen: it has been a fun year of polo and Cambridge was a fitting finale. Opening tournament to next years series? Throw ins Friday was great fun, sometimes a by-product of the tournament, but was great to get plenty court time mixing it up with others, like Hooks. Well done Hooks for the win, gutted we missed the finals. All that played polo on Saturday night are winners in my eyes, if only I could remember who you all were. Mop Polo was inspired, although I fear I didn't take it seriously enough... resorting to 'tap aff' top-rocking in from of the stereo after a messy wipe out. Great meeting so many brilliant people. Harvey, Peter, Ciaran, Tim, Neil and the man that gave me Carling on Saturday, to name a few - thanks gents, a pleasure.

^This is such a shame, is there anyway we(the polo community) can stop it happening?
A bearded architect friend reckons the site is worth about 3 to 4 million quid leasehold , so we should maybe get the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge playing Bike polo .
The good news is we'll probably still be in there until next summer , we're only in there as a tax dodge on empty buildings . -

Huzzah! Great weekend. Congratulations Hooks, Cosmic and Spring Brrrrreak.
So nice to see Hooks and Edinburgh!
Thanks Cambridge, always have fun in your pretty little city.
Bring on National Series, 2012.

It's all legal, standard practice to avoid paying an empty buildings tax introduced in 2007 on buildings, in our case waiting for demolition for redevelopment . There's a lot of artists studios and galleries already springing up in empty shops using the same loophole , one of the positives of the recession i guess. Our landlord specializes in helping start up businesses and organizations find premises on very short leases in Cambridge , whilst negociating with the owners on our behalf. Really spot on character . I imagine there must be something similar happening elsewhere too.

Did anyone find my mallet in the end?
Orange half-cheater double capped, Rik pole, inner tube grip.
It disappeared some point late on Saturday night. I might have not been entirely sober, so I don't remember what happened to it...

Many thanks to all at Cambridge, Fantastic weekend. Also to all the teams - inspirational stuff!
Unfortunately I realised I'm better with a mop than a mallet. And if anyone has the video of Sat nights Mop Polo game I'd love to see it. I was too drunk to remember who had the camera.
Great Polo, People, Beer, Food, limited injuries and Good Times.
Cheers,

Big love to Cambridge, that was great fun. Amazing set up that you have, we're terribly jealous over here in Dublin but its given us inspiration to put a big effort into trying to get something similar over here.
It was a great to play teams of such a high level, lots of education.
Thanks to all those that helped out over the weekend in the warehouse and Bogey for putting a roof over our heads on Sunday night.
(R2 your a king)Peace

thanks to everyone who came down this weekend, it was great fun. although the court was a little slippy it was still good to watch you all play. also thanks to everyone who bought a chunk t shirt from me, you are helping us keep the warehouse!
the national series has been great this year and really improved the UK polo scene. The great thing is that the standard of UK polo will only improve and hopefully there will be alot more UK teams doing well in the euros 2012. only time will tell.
bring on the 24h tourney!

Shocking video evidence has recently emerged showing cheap immigrant labour (mostly Scottish it would appear) being used to clean scummy, polo-infested Cambridge commercial premises in the early hours of Sunday morning. Justice has to be seen to be done - the gangmasters will be found out!!
