That was awesome, didn't get home until after 1 though, feel a bit urgh today, HoP is going to suck later.
Sorry whatok for disappearing halfway though your story, something to do with hands over your ears?? How does the rest of it go!?
Highlight for me was definitely the tank, and the bicycle balance of bicycle at the top of Primrose was equally cool. Great photos Oat, cheers for taking such great shots.
By the way, we didn't make it as far as Swain's Lane, the clock was ticking so left it for next time.

Thanks for organizing it, Katies!
I'm glad I stuck it out to the end. Primrose hill was totally worth it,but I'm feeling hungover for some inexplicable reason. Probably a combination of short sleep and the weird mystery meat pitta I got after rotherhide.
I'm always impressed by how much some people know about London.

Ha! a bit ventriloquism was needed while we counted out the 30 seconds exposure time... It didn't help when I messed up one of the attempts and thought the shutter was still open, realising only after about a minute that it was just a normal 60th/sec shot!
slightly larger versions of the pics here
Thanks for the comments, still prefer rhowe's St Katherine's one! -

I saw a bus jump Tower Bridge.
Ha. Article from Time Magazine (no, I have no idea why their web archive goes back to 1953 either):
Many a motorist has lived through the experience and awakened in his bed to find it was only a bad dream. Last week London Bus Driver Albert Gunter, 46, knew that it was no dream. With 20 passengers in his double-decker bus, Albert was just starting across the draw in London's Tower Bridge, as he had hundreds of times before. Suddenly, he said later, "it seemed as though the roadway in front of me was falling away." Albert started to jam on his brakes. Then he changed his mind.
"Everything happened terribly quickly," he said. "I realized that the part we were on was rising. It was horrifying. I felt we had to keep on or we might be flung into the river. So I accelerated." Up and up slowly went the bridge span; on and on Albert drove his bus. At the end of the span, Albert, his conductor and all 20 passengers soared off into space, leaped the widening gap and landed with a horrendous thump on the southern span six feet below. "I thought that might start going up too," said Albert, "so I just kept right on till I got to the other bank."
Results: a broken spring for the bus; a broken leg for the conductor; minor injuries for twelve passengers; a £10 ($28) bonus to Albert for his quick thinking.http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,817691,00.html

Something funny about Leinster Gardens...
"In the 1930s, a fraudster sold tickets for a charity ball at 23/24 Leinster Gardens and made a fortune. The guests arrived in their evening finest only to discover they had all been conned."

And now for the stats ....
Garmin stats
http://connect.garmin.com/activity/117976629
not 100% reliable - mostly because I think I turned the Garmin off by accident when I dropped my bike in Rotherhithe and back on somewhere near E&C
And according to the BToB Map of Map ....
Distance: pretty far
Elevation: maybe downhill at first, then mostly flat, then uphill at the end
There was some talk of a weekend afternoon ride at some point - maybe taking in some of the tags way out east, and possibly a few views and a pub at the end ...
^this man is better at spelling graffiti than me (today). as ever, good to see you
