Epic WTF

What have we become for this to be something that someone would bring to fruition without at any point thinking “Jesus shit no, what am I doing?! This is an awful waste of everyone’s time and I should be ashamed and saddened”.

It just makes me really quite upset. I don’t want this for anyone.

Whilst on holiday in Portugal there was a tourist who was busily snapping pictures of themselves in different poses and various forms of pout. All very professional with an expensive looking camera on a tripod. After about 5 minutes, just when I thought their lips were about to fall off from all this content creation, they opened up their suitcase and pulled out a different jacket and a scarf and repeated the process. Of course it wasn't a one off. I saw the same scene with different individuals including costume changes at other picturesque spots in Lisbon, hogging the pavement with their tripods and portable wardrobes.

So, I welcome this Shoreditch popup as it will hopefully free up the streets for people who want to actually see stuff.

I can just about understand the twisted logic behind all the insta life-faking that people do, but selfie venues don't seem to serve any function other than raw narcissism.

Humans are loathsome. That's why. Look how easy people find this shit, and how quickly it took to get here. Willingly depriving yourself of your own freedom, under the guise of creativity and individuality - it's perfect in a cruel way.
