Sheffield is North. Derby is 50/50 North. Lichfield & Ashby-de-la-Zouch are both South.

I don't think they did the Yorkshire pudding wrap thing when I was there. It was just a pork roast sandwich shop.

Sorry, but it is - the Thames divides England into North and South.

I think it depends on if you call it 'Darby' or 'Derby'.
-
• #11033
Weirdly I think Derby might be north and Nottingham south, Leicester is definitely south.
-
• #11034
Derby is North because Derbyshire is North.
-
• #11035
Nottingham and Leicester defo south.
-
• #11036
Derby is not in The North, Sheffield is in The North, I think Mansfield may be the line, think it goes Grimsby/Mansfield/Stoke/Ellesmere Port

Is this an example of relativity if you are from Boro, Derby is south.
we could call it Beans law after Sean Bean. Something along the lines of “I’m from the true north, everything south of me is wrong. At the same time nothing can be north of me”.
My mums from Derbyshire and I grew up just south of Middlesbrough btw.

Its easy, both the BBC and ITV have their regional programming (Including football coverage) split as follows.
Sheffield is Northern.
Derby, Leicester, and Nottingham are East Midlands. (BBC have their East Midlands studio in Nottingham)
Stoke is West Midlands, and the most Northerly midlands city
The people of Crewe claim it's the most Southerly Northern town, but nobody can remember any TV company covering anything about Crewe, so its difficult to prove. -

covering anything about Crewe
I hear they've got guns, knives and drugs too.

How about a line between the mersey and the humber? Means Manchester is north but Doncaster is in the South... happy enough with that.
Not if you got there before it went to national news.
But York, to be fair, is just tourist bait full stop. I grew up in Chester, I see the similarly.
