Not partaking but will be supporting. Especially in light of the recent accident :[
This...fuck it might as well blow the last of my cash on couriers and booze. Makes a change from coke and hookers and bikes. I'm sure it goes without saying I will not be doing the alleycat - I'm assuming we aren't allowed to do a relay type set up, maybe Team Awesome could just do a checkpoint/leg each?
No? Having thought about it I'm almost tempted to take part. Someone has to come dfl after all!
Whose going to the Macbeth then...I'm a little afeared of leaving my hipster bike locked up in Shoreditch. Anyone up for pre-meet and bitch locking?

Yeah I've sold my beater, gutted. Will probably leave mine at work near Old St. tube so come with me poots.
I'm almost tempted also. I mean if we pay the £20 to watch, they you may as well... maybe...Where's Clefty?

I'm gonna have a go - I'll race you for DFL.

There will be a fucktonne of bikes locked up with a fucktonne of 'professional urban cyclists' smoking outside...It's not like the bikes will be left on their own. :]

This is true Mr Rainbow...

I'm almost tempted also. I mean if we pay the £20 to watch, they you may as well... maybe...This is my thinking...I mean, what's the worse that can happen, as the advert says? If nothing else, let's have a quick spin round town before going to the pub?
I'm gonna have a go - I'll race you for DFL..
I may be head of the commuter/nodder peloton pack but I SUCK at cycling with you lot, although it does make me ride faster...It's in the dfl bag for me!
I reckon I'll go register at LMNH on way home, drop stuff off, get changed, and head back out again..Wicksie, Butters,.how does meeting at the Foundry for EPO laced tramp beers at around 7.30 sound?

That sounds like exactly the sort of race preparation we need.

No firm plans from me until I've spoken to the boss.
Either way, the forum massive should be all over this and show support for the lcef
-
• #34
The LCEF film is pretty funny. Gertie rules.

The smell when those doors open is really something.

Fingers crossed you can make it Wickster!

Seriously, why is there not more forum interest in this? Bikes! Boozes! Nonsense! Dancing! Reckless behaviour! All for a good cause....get involved innit!

Seriously, why is there not more forum interest in this?
Because it doesn't involve sitting outside one of the standard 5 compass drinks pubs with the same old faces?
Pretty sure if this was a forum organised event offering the same attractions then it would be receiving a lot more attention.
I blame this for giving couriers a bad name and making forum members feel too inferior to mix with them....

Good job I have a vastly over inflated sense of superiority then ; )
Have decided am definately "racing" tomorrow...racing, in the loosest sense of the word. If they have a senior ladies category I might clean up in that!
-
• #40
I actually do quite well in Senior Ladies Cat.

• #41
Not a pussy joke.

Rookie question. How far the mad max theme will go?. Some mates of mine will be keen to come with a proper post apocalyptic outfit - plastic bullet belt, war paint, gas mask, you get the idea, but they can't race, riding bikes made literally out of the bins, but just having fun hanging around in that kind of theme. Would it be appropriate or is it just about rhe courier riders to be dressed as such. I'm personally not as fast as a courier either, just wondering if it wouldn't be odd doing so. sorry if it sounds like a weird question. in thinkin% about the theme we have in bike wars like in copenhagen (dutchies own the thing this year)

Woutchi, come down Mate. Dress as you want, register, donate to LCEF, ride/don't ride, drink/don't drink, hang out, have fun...

Well...what a disappointing forum turnout...Those that were there...nice to see you!
