My Veloce shifters say 10 speed, I've got 10 sprockets on my cassette and my RD is a 10 Veloce one. Can someone get my gears to index perfectly for a beer?
your rear 10 speed cassette, is it also campag or have you mixed in a bit of sram shimano?

It's all Campag of the same vintage. Runs OK but it's the first indexed geared bike I've built so it's still a bit sketchy.

Is it a campagnolo cassette ?

Have you downloaded the RD manual ? It's really straightforward. I've built up about 5 campag geared bikes, and I'm a fairly inept mechanic.

Yes, yes and yes, it's a campag cassette. I've just been lazily following the park tools guides. I'll get there in the end no doubt.

Tried the weird "adjust until the jockey wheel is below the 4th sproket" nonsense from the manual. It is indeed nonsense. When I re-adjusted by eye / feel after that it all went smoothly. Wehay!

Does anyone know if I can use recent 10 speed ultra-torque cranks with the rest of a 10 speed veloce group that originally came with square taper cranks?
Obviously the bottom bracket systems aren't interchangeable, but how about the front and rear mechs - will they work the same with the newer chainset?
There’s one thing that you should take into consideration: Older 10 speed Campy uses different front derailleurs for standard and compact cranksets. So as long as you stay with the same crankset as original (standard or compact) you should be fine.

I've got a non compact Record FD on my S-works - running perfectly with compact spider and rings. Bit of a fiddle to set up, but once it's dialed, it's fine.
Is it a campag cassette/freehub body on your rear wheel?
