  • Hi.
    New here! :) cheers.
I used this solution last year in tuscany, but I have to upgrade to a saddle bag I suppose...
    Thank you for suggestion!

  • You could fit a very nice frame bag in there!

  • For those inclined to making their own gear: http://www.rayjardine.com/ray-way/Tarp-Kit/index.htm

  • Hipster saddle angle gonna be uncomfortable.

  • Lezyne top tube?

  • Or Lezyne saddle/handlebar bag?

  • Has anyone used the Salsa anything cage on conventional bottlecage mounts? Would that work?

  • Can be fitted, but the width might be an issue.

  • In terms of hitting it whilst pedalling? I wonder if putting it on the downtube would solve that...

  • Yep, there's a chance it'll come in contact with your legs, which may get pretty annoying after a couple days cycling.

I wonder if putting it on the downtube would solve that...

    If the cranks clear it.

  • Hipster saddle angle gonna be uncomfortable.

Yeah coz Mike Hall hasn't much experience with comfort on his bike.

  • He did after a couple of days during his around the world tour when he noticed he was sliding forward on his saddle. Also he had it because the fit wasnt perfect, which I would attend to first rather than making weird saddle angles to adjust the fit. However, if you feel comfortable on it, who are we to tell you otherwise :)

  • What's a good amount of litres for a 2 week tour...is 50 enough?

  • Where? Covering what distance? How much do you usually drink?

  • Drink when you're thirsty, refill when you get the chance.

  • I meant luggage volume rather than drinking, but with France in mind carrying tent, stove and change of clothes..

  • Ah right, that makes a bit more sense. I thought maybe you were riding across Australia unsupported or something.

  • Hopefully I won't need 50 litres of water for Metropolitan France...

  • No, you won't, other than for swimming in or bathing.

  • Work well, claim max 1.5ltr, but managed a 2ltr bottle with a bit of shoehorning, bit flimsy, probably a better version out there.

  • So is 50 litres from bar bag, two front panniers, Carridice rear going to be enough do we think?

  • enough for what? fully loaded tour? lightweight? etc. 2 weeks shouldn't difficult.

Sound like something that can be covered here.

  • Moved! Cheers

  • bikepacking on the cheap; frame bag was £11, drybag at the rear £8.50. No tent but a sleeping bag and bivvi, tools and clothes. Going minimal but hopefully enough for 9 days in south west France in July

Mega dredge I know but, what size drybag is this?

Nevermind, if it was £8.50 it must have been the 13l.
