Also wondering about this, especially since voike straps might not arrive in time. Found some shock cord (big name for elastic rope) and cord locks on Amazon. Get some cut down to appropriate sizes. Only worry is the cord locks are not strong enough but you can fiesably knot it.
Word of warning, 5mm is too thick, but if you need 5mm I might have some spare...

Cargo net from SJS and hardware store bungees. All work fine. Just be careful not to lose the rubber tips.
Srsly tho, cargo nets are the best thing ever. Loads of places to tuck things.

I've got various. A couple of rubber ones I found on the road and some Alpkit velcro and 'dual' straps.

see how many pretentious cliches you can shoehorn into one video. in the first 20 seconds
- calling mid-wales a "desert"
- slomo filter coffee making
- tipis
- cast iron pan on the fire
- slomo cutting open a watermelon with an artisanal hatchet
P.S. this area is lovely just don't pay £60 to go camping there

Next gen sportive no? Food and logistics included I'm sure people are happy to pay it, if they don't derive any pleasure from planning their own route n stuff and are used to paying to get stuff done

That bit of the country has been known as the mid-Wales desert for a long time, but the rest of the hipster bikepacking crap can do one.

I took @spotter’s advice and bought a cheap lotus handlebar harness off ebay and added a restrap 14l dual ended drybag. Cost £30 total and have to say it works really really well. It has a strap that goes up and under your stem and back down so you can hoik the whole thing up away from your front tire.

Don’t think so, I’ve just packed my hammock, tarp and 2/3 season down bag into a 14l dry bag that fits between my 40cm drops. A bivi will be a lot smaller than my hammock/tarp.
I’d reccomended probably getting a cheap inflatable mat rather than bubble wrap just for pack size really. Someone said Lidl had some for £20 that looked not too bad?
Probably worth having a frame bag and/or top tube bag and/or feed bag as well for food & items you want to access easily.
Restrap 14l drybag is a good shout as is the alpkit tapered one. Both cheap as chips. Restrap discount code = LFGSS15 for 15% off. If you’re only unpacking it once a day you could probably get away with bungee-ing it to the back of the saddle. Will be a ball ache if you need to get into it often though.

Thinking about making a diy frame bag. Anyone knows where to get materials cheaply? Waterproof zips, waterproof ripstop...

You can attach a few together for bigger items. I took a few spares on a recent 2 dayer and they saved the day on a handlebar rillbtaht wouldn't stay together
