Aerolight 695 brakes:
Brakes are not working, anyone got a tutorial or a maintenance on this on how to strip and rebuild?

Can't stop, don't want to either

Eventually will, but probably face first.

Got a good deal on a Look seatpost on eBay, so added that to my 585.

Quick one - got a 481 and looking for tyre size for contis. 25 GP4000s fit but tight. Does everyone run 23s? Wheels are Krysiums.
-

I've got 28's on my 585^ but that's as big as will fit.
In my experience the older GP4000's blew up bigger than the current GP5000's, and though I've not got a 481 I'm sure you'd fit 25c GP5000 no problem if your GP4000's fit, you might even manage a 28c GP5000 in there, but I'd wait for confirmation from a 481 owner.

Does everyone run 23s?
That's how we rolled when those frames were made.

I had Pasela 25s on my 481
Not any more
Having said that I don't think it was the original fork

• #3289
ah man what happened to that?
-
• #3290
I did wonder if that would work
Would make a great travel bike -

Driver made a right turn into me so it was a not-quite-head-on with both of us doing about 20 mph - I walked away with battered (but unbroken) legs having flown over the car and landed on the road... not quite sure how I survived tbh but all good now (it was 2.5weeks ago)
-
• #3292
Jeez. Good your healthy. Shame about the bike.
-
• #3293
Thanks - agree on both counts (and in that order)!
-
• #3294
Holy shit!
When I first glanced the pic I thought oh my god my ultimate nightmare of old glue giving out and frame coming apart, but the real story sounds even more horrific.
Glad you're 'OK' after that, and RIP frame and hope driver buys you a new Look.

Thanks - yes hopefully the insurance payout will cover a suitable replacement - will probably require quite a bit of chasing/patience though!
-
• #3296
After that I think the least they can is get you a brand new Look in Mondrian colours :)
Sadly insurance companies don't work like that, but good luck and hope you get something worthy eventually.

Very glad you are in what appears to be one piece.
The only item appearing to hold your bike together is the chain makes that pic. -
• #3298
Cheers - yes, the chain and cables hold it all together - one of the fork legs broke off and the drive side seat stay is also snapped making a total of 4 separate pieces!!

Hello Look people. Does anyone know if thereโs a different way to mark the codes on the Bb shell of the look al 264 p ?
(Like horizontally, perpendicular to the downtube I mean).
