Wicked to see Kerrie get the opportunity to do the RA podcast, she's a proper legend of the scene and really delivers.

Nice. Driving industrial techno without being too industrial/screechy and without forgetting the fucking kick drum. Don't think I've seen this guy before. Just listening to his EP on SC now

Hippy whats your story? Stumbled across your youtube and see all these JJJ mixups! Some top tier mixes in there

I see your follow. What do you mean, my story? Don't you read the blurb? :P
They're sets and ad hoc tracks I taped off the radio when I lived in Australia. Before I went to uni I lived in the sticks so couldn't get to any actual parties - the only source of techno was a local radio show called Loops of Infinity, Mellbergs Music's little box of techno CDs and later on JJJ's "Mix up" show. JJJ is kind of youth radio or alternative radio - part of the ABC, the national broadcaster and finally made it to my little home town in the 90s at some point. The recordings drop off in the late 90s because I moved back to Melbourne for uni and I was out more than I was at home able to record stuff. Later on in Melbourne we had a couple of years of Kiss FM, a dance music broadcaster trying to get a permanent broadcasting license.

Yep, HMC's label. He's now playing under a different alias. Plays a lot of disco.

I have a bit of HMC's stuff. I think I have the vinyl that he sampled for Phreakin' at home. Like, I literally only bought it because I recognised the HMC sample :)

Just discovered this thread - some great stuff. Will spend a few hours looking back and updating the Discogs wantlist! A few FOATs:

Also, debatable if techno, but I guess at the time genres were a bit more fluid. But just this week found out the legend Stevie B-Zet recently passed away.

Oh and the comment about Phreakin' above. No, it was LSD that I bought the record that he sampled from.
