I'll have myself a piece of this.
That Brighton ride was amazing fun. I remember having to shut my eyes on the downhills because the rain was stinging too much!

Looks good, in. Will be fixed, because the only gears I have are worn sprockets in the bottom of a tool box.

****DATE CHANGE****
going to have to change the date to the following:
01/10/11
that's the saturday.
i hope all who are on the list can make the change to.
apologies.
right then.
i have too many plans across the rest of the summer to get on any long rides and i need something to look forward too.
so with this in mind i'm planning an autumnal jaunt down to the coast.
this route has been run before and it's top notch.
i took the same trip down to dover last year.
it's worth it just to cross the medway bridge, admittedly not on the m2 just next to it.
there are hills, as i remember quite a few but mainly rolling.
i will be taking gears as i have a new bike, i rode it fixed last time out with no problems.
this will be october so it might be chilly, it will most likely be pissing it down with rain.
after the last brighton run i did that could make it quite fun!
our destination in st margarets is the pub on the front in the bay.
it's then a 5 mile pootle back to dover to take the train back to london.
**Departure will be 8am from the junction of Sandgate Street and the Old Kent Road. Sandgate street is a quiet road with a good bit of pavement so we should not get in the way of anybody. **
pace will likely be around 16mph on average with at least 1 pub stop on route for lunch.
ride time with stops should be 7-8 hours.
this ride will suit those who have ventured far before, not one to pop your long distance cherry.
it's 87 mile from elephant to the pub with an extra 5 to the train station.
usual ride notes will follow.
