That Shawver thing is lovely.
-
• #283
is there any reason other than aesthetic that the seatstays on the Shawver do not go 'all the way up' ?
edit* apart from shorter = less weight

Obviously not race legal but for touring and commuting etc it would be great
I guarantee you it won't be great for touring at all.

the shawver is a pretty bangin frame but i don't really like the build, especially as they've replaced that beautiful fork with some crabon.
-
• #286
I don't really understand the build. Custom frame and forks then put expensive carbon forks on it, and then the build itself is full of nice/ugly parts - which make it look like it's been put together with what they had lying around, rather than a considered build you would expect from a custom frame job...

That could literally be what it is, just to show the bike built up. Then everything gets taken off and it gets given to the lucky person with their amazing forks left uncut.

You really are the expert here, but if everything was just scaled up evenly (human included) why would it be any worse?

Simple: compatibility.
What happen if you needed a new inner tube? new tyres? spokes?

Must have some serious inseam.
I'm 6ft exactly and my bikes are 63cm and 64cm, both with around 6" of seatpost.
Am I some kind of horrendously leggy spider-crab like creature?

Yep

I always had my suspicions, mostly due to the exoskeleton.

Eddy is all but done, barring a couple of tweaks. Been riding it for a couple of weeks now. Went for TB14s, which so far I'm very happy with. It's a comfortable ride.
