The yellow top and high-cutoff shorts were a little radical, but when you combined them with matching yellow cycling goggles, it all went a bit "Dad's Gay Disco" ;)
Forum jersey, of course, is immune to style.

'It's not about the shorts.' :)

But you had a bandana tied around your knee, surely you get some points for that.
I'd forgotten about that viewing point with the barbed wire, that was funny.

This might be of interest to M25 riders--in this case, it's ON the North and South Circulars all the way around.

Ooh, I am well up for that. Ta.
Although, on reflection, the pace looks rather slow.

That looks fucking grim. Our route was nice, scenic even.

I don't really know what James has in mind. He bills it as a campaigning ride. I suppose the idea is to stay in a tight group, which might just work.
-

That looks horrible. I can't see why anyone would want to do that. For campaigning reasons maybe but exposing yourself to that level of traffic and pollutants seems like genuine madness.

+1 that has to b one of the worst ideas in the world.
there are so many other ways of making a point...but what is their point? busy roads are dangerous and to be avoided. -

they are going to piss a lot of people off.

It wasn't too bad, really. The South Circular is actually quite a nice route (so much so that I did it again this afternoon, just for fun). North Circular is a bit rank.
they are going to piss a lot of people off.
We only had a couple of arseholes honking and making a noise and they were both on the stretch between Brent Cross and the Ace cafe. We didn't do the 70mph section of the North Circular, which would have been illegal for us to traverse.
Serial communications failures and diary clashes meant that turnout was tiny, but I didn't regret turning up. James is also an inspiring cyclist with the most rugged and least high tech cycling gear I've ever seen (and no toe clips holding those hiking boots in place).

James is a legend. Glad it worked!

This year's ride cancelled; shit's gone mainstream.

It's ok, they'll never fit a coach down those lanes.

Or through the golf course. And it'd scare the shit out of that donkey, poor chap.
And actually is anyone keen to do it again this year? I sure as hell am.
-
• #174
Yep, I need to do it fixed after not doing it fixed last year due to my leg being broken.
I think Oli also feels the need to do it after we didn't technically get all the way round last time.
-
• #175
I was short about 50 miles last time so I'm definitely keen to do it!
Half as many stops and we'd shave off at least 2, 2 1/2 hours I reckon.
I think the riding across the bridge one is my favourite. The one of spybot blackberry hunting needs a David Attenborough style voiceover..
"When it's usual food source of pastries is exhausted, the spybot forages for berries..."
:)
