fuck shit..
so whats my options then?do i need a different fork if i want a front brake? i assume because of the shape of the fork drops that i cant use a clamp on?

Buy a different fork.

damn.. suppose i should have done a bit more research on his behalf, but alas its my first build. so i suppose you live and learn.
fuck knows what i'm gonna do with this leader fork though.

Although if you buy a drilled road fork, it will probably have a different rake and make the bike handle all funny.
Make sure whatever fork you buy has the same rake as the leader fork.

cheers gizmond, good to know.. i'll take the leader fork with me when i go looking.

its this fork by leader (don't ask.. his choice).

I hate to say it, but were the block capitals stating "ONLY FOR TRACK RACING" not a little bit of a clue that it wouldnt be drilled/suitable for drilling?
-

probably, but the guy i'm building it for picked up the frame and fork on ebay ...so i kinda figured it would be straightforward after that.

As above really....
Get an Easton EC90, ace forks. Can get one on ebay for around £100ish
Strong, light as fuck(carbon steerer) and already drilled and ready to go
I personally prefer the straight as oppose to the Aero shape

right a fucking quick answer needed... cuting carbon fork down, hacksaw will do yeah?

Anyone drilled one of the newer Vigorelli forks ? It's got a brake hole, but covered at the front. Do I just need to push through the covering with a drill ?
This may seem obvious to some, but I have limited experience with power tools and combined with my natural cack handedness, I just wanted to make sure.
-

It might be worth a search as I recall the question being asked before. The answer, if I recall correctly, was that it pretty straightforward due to the forks being pre-drilled then covered up.

Yep it has a bit of filler under the paint, but already drilled.
Mark then drill a pilot hole from front.
Then go up to size.
Done.
(Maybe put tape over front to prevent paint cracking)

Cheers both, was just as simple as Ordinata suggested. No cack handed with a power tool mistakes either, which is always a bonus
no.
