  • I'll just say take some extra cash if you go to the warehouse!

  • Also worth considering: https://www.wantdontwant.com/home/.

I’ve had loads of new and used off them. Usually keen pricing too.

  • We got a Montis sofa from Viaduct.

Also have stuff from Bo Concept (weird name, nice stuff)

  • Cheers! BoConcept Modena is nice, and not too pricey.

Speaking of shite names, my girlfriend found a company called &tradition and one of theirs is top of the list at the moment.

  • &tradition stuff is really nice - one of my favourites

  • Those legs though, like you’re waiting in the terminal for your BOAC flight to Rhodesia.

  • Hah they're my favourite bit! Everything else is the run of the mill oak cone or spindly brushed steel.

  • Legs aside, definitely get a sofa with actual cushions. Our monobloc hay mags is basically unfluffable. Still comfy, but my butt groove ruins the aesthetic.

  • Need a smallish modern/ mic-century coffee table but haven't found much inspiring online, any suggestions for shops / manufacturers?

  • I was in a similar place, you’ve prob looked already but untothislast do a great one with multi size and colour options as well as a shelf underneath which was oddly hard to find.

  • Ah interesting

I seem to lean towards solid wood rather than ply or veneer - do I need to rethink that?

  • What sort of size/shape? (Also furniture thread is worth an ask too)

  • Smallish. Was thinking something curved rather than an oblong as the room is a bit busy already

(excuse general detritus / kids stuff)

  • Jeez What do I have to do to ensure my living room only contains one tasteful wooden toy bus ?

Also - Ercol pebbles or their round one might work in that (lovely ) space ?

  • Oh yeah, 100%. The one I have would suit your space perfectly, it’s pretty similar…

  • Jeez What do I have to do to ensure my living room only contains one tasteful wooden toy bus ?

Literally ban them (and the cats) from entry unless supervised

I don't recommend this TBH, it's now a massive albatros around my neck (sink loads of energy in time making a nice room that nobody can realistically enjoy)

Ercol pebbles or their round one might work in that (lovely ) space ?

Yeah spotted this. On the long list.

  • Cluttered but don’t care… we went for linoleum top for easy care too.

  • Noguchi 😉

But actually probably a little big - I have a Menu NoNo coffee table going for sale at a good price 😃

  • Ercol 308 or 354 (pebbles) or maybe Vitsoe 621 table. Or as mentioned baller Walnut Noguchi.

  • Vitsoe 621 table

    Ohhhh didn't consider that. mmm

  • Any recommendations for cheap-ish picture framer's in NW london - got a load of stuff that needs framing - nothing huge but mostly won't fit in off the shelf frames and the quality of those seems to have taken a dive anyhow...

  • Tables:

    Johannes Andersen
    Severin Hansen
    Henning Kjærnulf
    Kai Christiansen

  • Looking for something like a Wastberg w181 linier s pendant lamp but maybe not quite as expensive. Anyone have some alternative options?

  • .....
