Not really into playing and coaching at the same time.

Looking forward to getting some coaching myself.

If I'm picked. Will the draft be live?

Also, 3 players can play a 30 minute game by themselves. I think the ideal would be something like 45 minute games and 5 a side.

Everyone who enters the draft will be picked for a team. 30 entries = 6 teams of 5, or 5 teams of 6, 50 entries = 10 teams of 5.

The draft will be live on Google Docs.

If someone wants to be a non-playing coach, I guess I could accomodate that, maybe give them one of the teams of 6 (if we have an uneven number of players). I had assumed everyone would want to play.

The length of games will depend on the number of teams we have, if it's only a few, then we can make the games longer.

Remember when we let the kids at Downham draft us on to their football teams? Max and Mark's feelings were hurt that they was drafted last.

Hmm, good point. It will certainly be live for the drafters, maybe only announce the teams afterwards, without the order they were picked in.

Yup, that's exactly what we did in Sydney. Picked on a google doc, live only to the captains, then announced the teams alphabetically after a two day 'swapping/negotiating' period where we were allowed to sell people down the river for top players.

Ooh, sounds interesting...

It was, and it was fun trying to 'sell' two players and beer for one top player or a player you knew another captain desperately wanted, but in the end no one swapped anyone (despite a lack of trying).

That's a nice list starting to appear, good spread of players, at the moment it's working pretty well as 5 teams of 5 (roughly). But the more the merrier.

About a week before I'll send out a reminder PM to anyone on the list to check they are really going to make it. You should also be on the list by then if you want to play.
