  • the best would be corrugated plastic used for roofing
Wouldn't that be a touch unpredictable on the rebound?

  • think 9mm is the thinnest spec

I tell a lie, you can get 4mm and 6mm too. 4mm is about £8 for 2400 x 1200 but would have to check if it would be strong enough to stop a ball

  • Has to be transparent/translucent though!

  • Even if it's only 600mm? If they're using it for storing podiums, junk and tyres it seems hypocritical to ask us to build it out of expensive plastic

  • Tennis courts in Canon Hill Park if we could book them? (the double court).

  • Making barriers seems like a lot of hard work for a one or two dayer I reckon.

Cannon hill not suitable I reckon either - I think I posted about that earlier...

  • ball going over would be an occasional annoyance but it hardly ever comes off the floor in brum games does it??

Oh Stu, so much has changed!

  • Oh, have you been lifting balls for a while now?

  • twss..

  • We have a venue!

It's in Highgate, it's indoors, room for two courts and it's free.

    First tourney planning meeting.
Spotted dog. Sunday 4th september after polo.

    1. EMM
      2.
      3.
      4.
  • Sounds sick, more details please. Can you play on it now or only for the tourney?

Shame I can't make the meeting

  • Can we check it out on Sunday M? What's availability like? (thinking of the future)

  • What what what?

Have you recce'd it? It would be advisable for one person (at least) to check it out before marshalling people for a meeting, I reckon. If it's the community centre place, it's not suitable. Although I doubt it is, because only a seriously spacially-unaware person would think you could put two courts in there.

  • Ill take minutes and send them to you stu.

Its a warehouse, but the company is moving out so we can use it for a weekend after its been cleared.

There is no date yet, we should know more on that in a couple of weeks.

  • I'm happy to take some photo's if you like, as its on my doorstep (sadly)....

  • Awesome news - well done on the find!

I reckon with a confirmed venue/date, it will motivate everyone to get involved.

Meeting is good - but we need to check the surface/barrier situation asap. Photos/general impressions from Pistaboy would be welcome.

  • If anybody wants to view the court today PM me and I can send the postcode, lunchtime is better 1-2.

  • I'd like to take a look - but can't get out of work today. No chance tomorrow?

  • yeah sure Dan, same again tomorrow lunchtimeish, just text me when you wan to pop up

  • After some thought today, we may only b able to have 1 court. The floor looks slightly uneven in places, @o unless we can fit them in an L shape it will b 1. Ill try n get the floor plan today.

  • Cool - I'll aim to be with you around 1.
