Ben, you only paid £10 (invoice 0143) for yourself. I need the other 2 players to register and pay, unless you want me to invoice you for the £20? I can do that if you prefer.

  • no i also paid a £20 payment about a minute after i paid my invoice but let me check when i get home cause i might have misspelt or something, dont think i did though

I would have had to invoice you in order for you to pay again. I have your £10 payment but nothing else. I will send you an invoice for the £20. If you could double check your end and then pay the £20 when you realise I am right ;-) Any problems, PM me and I will sort it out. Cheers

  • Can someone from London who is coming to Bristo please bring some of the LHBPA poles to Brighton please? I'll happily pay for them up front, so all you need to do is deliver them?

  • Anti Polo Consortium/Plaze waiting for an invoice....

  • Northern Scum withdrawn. Players pulled out. Disappointing.

  • If all participants could be at the site for 9:30 latest for a 10 am start.

For those getting a train down, you can get a link train from Temple Meads to Sea Mills and then cycle the 2 minutes to the court but the timings on the changes are a bit whack. the 7 am arriving at 8:39 requires a 36 minuite wait for the Sea Mills train, the 7:30 comes in at 9:15 and then the change is at 9:16 getting you to Sea Mills for 9:33. It's a 30 minute cycle from Temple Meads on a polo gear.

  • Our graffiti artists are getting busy at the courts.....

    Looks amazing , can't wait

  • The surface is more coarse than sheffield, not sure if it will wear tyres any quicker though. Bring a spare if you think you might need it.

  • really looking forward to this! bring on the weekend.

Would have brought a spare tyre but, now I'm rocking a ss and dual brake, no more tyre destruction for me!!

  • Not the only one. Depends how you set up the brakes. I quite like a good skid with the front brake so I can stop quicker.

I wouldn't describe the surface as course. It is 6mm compacted tarmac and pretty smooth imo. There are one or two bumps around the edges next to the walls where weeds have pushed up the tarmac a bit, but to be honest you don't really notice them due to the excellent size of the playing area. We went around the perimiter with a wacker plate and some heat the other day!

The courts (and site) are starting to take shape now after a few more days hard graft! We are starting to get really excited about the place. We have raised it from being a derelict rotting shit hole to a fantastic venue for the NS. Can't wait to show it off!

  • There will be the following booze on sale at the event.

    Butcombe Bitter (4.0% ABV)

The West Country's favourite beer derives from pure Mendip Spring Water…notably bitter, clean tasting, refreshingly dry and distinctive. Made with 100% best Maris Otter malt (the Rolls Royce of malts), together with a blend of (never divulged) English hop varieties…Butcombe Bitter is a moreish Mendip masterpiece!

At last – a premium quality cider that tastes of apples!*

                                      **Nose:** Fresh and fruity.
**Palate:** Robust apple taste with a slight bite.
                                      **Colour:** Golden Straw.
**Comments: **Ashton Press is made from all English apples, pressed locally and conditioned in oak vats, producing a wonderful medium dry, strong, golden cider of superb quality. A wholly owned subsidiary of Butcombe Brewery, The Long Ashton Cider Co. was purchased in 2003 to celebrate the achievements of the National Fruit and Cider Institute, based at the Long Ashton Research Station near Bristol, which enjoyed 100 "fruitful" years until its closure in 2003.
**At 4.8% ABV this medium dry cider is slightly stronger and marginally drier than say, Westons Stowford Press.**

There will also be a lager on sale too (TBC but probably Carling or similar - non draft).

THE GOOD NEWS IS, WE WILL BE CHARGING JUST £1 PER PINT ACROSS THE WHOLE EVENT!! THAT'S THE SAME PRICE IT WAS IN THE EARLY 90'S!! Hacked Off won't be drinking, but will be encouraging everyone else to drink as much as possible (especially before they play us!).
