Advocacy/eh? Advocating hatred of cyclists?
Fun/frustrating
Slow/see above
Peace/no- lots of aggression
Noise/this is a positive?
Lack of motors/Loads of motors, queued up and furious
Pedals/well, yes
Smiles/not from all the people who have abruptly had their Friday night FUBAR'd by cyclists
No Dammit/I'll give you that oneHonestly, CM generates more hatred of cyclists than anything, it's a crazy act of self harm.

The OP didn't ask: Can someone tell me whether they CM is a great advert for cycling? They asked for advice on what goes on, how to join in.
I think the worst advert for cycling is people who rise fast on busy London commuter streets. Not a once a month rolling party.

Ok, turn up to the stone circle, prepare to ride around at 2mph whilst people honk at you.

Dammit, I really don't see the impetus behind your energetic objection. Why not just ignore CM? I feel CM is wonderful. I really do. I will continue to do so!

what you mean like 21 mph? because the vehicular traffic dosent go any faster than it did in 1906 needs leaving behind

No, I'm referring not really to actual speeds really, just arrogant, racey, burning towards peds and shouting at people. As if it's ok to be a cock cos you're on a bike.

This to me is a bit odd, though- I've met you, you're a nice bloke, bright, heart in the right place and so forth.
Your support for this monthly act of ghastly selfishness confuses me.
Hey ho, the world keeps turning.

I stopped riding at CM when 3 people fell off their bikes (and tried to take me with them) within 15 minutes and half a mile. It's just not fun.
