Right, now don't me wrong, I strongly dislike the NOTW, and what they are alledged to have done is clearly wrong, but I don't see how that has any relevance to this takeover. There is no evidence Murdoch had any knowledge of this, yet the mix of anti-Murdoch propaganda (which should be irrelevant to any decision), and fears of a lack of competition (which is a valid point), just confuses the issue, and as such I won't sign anything.
If this was purely about the lack of diversity in the media, then fine, but nothing has changed there.
My issue is Murdoch wields an enormous amount of power via his various interests (Fox, Foxtel, Star as well as the substantial amount of papers) I believe he already has substantial influence in the Sky network already. I do not want his influence to increase as I am preturbed by what appears to be a political agenda.

Absolutely, and that's a perfectly valid concern.

I do.
For the good broadband + phones. Plus Mrs. Spenceey likes to watch all that shit you can't get on normal telly.
I don't agree with what is going on at the moment though, but don't think me cancelling my sky tv would make a world of a difference.

• #40
^ possibly not - but it does kinda make it hard to take anyone who has strong opinions on this matter and a sky sub seriously. bit like 'vegetarians' that eat chicken.

And has anyone read the Times editorial today? It's a beautiful work of fiction and diversion.
Thats a Murdoch rag too
Boycott it
The Times and Times On Line
The Sun
News Of the World
SKYDon't give Murdoch a single penny. So many advertisers have already dropped their adverts in these publications
Hurt Murdoch in the pocket -

^ i'm just glad that global warming causing car manufacturers, morally bankrupt banks and exploitative supermarket chains can occupy the moral high ground.

Um, yes I know, which is why I was commenting on its hypocrisy. Doesn't stop my press dept from buying a copy.
The chair of the PCC on R4 this morning was funny. A toothless tiger that NI withdrew its membership from, but she essentially said that Brooks lied to them, at the last hearing.

this is a good piece that sums it up well
Coulsen is one i can't make my mind up on, he is either a stand up moral guy or immensely slippery, i don't want to see a scape goat. i want a complete turn of public opinion against NI and revolt by the public. that would shake a lot of people up.
