Tomorrow! Weather looks better than last year!

loads of guys up there scouting it out last night. all of them quicker than me. ho hum.

Oh - I am getting properly nervous about this - I suspect signing up will prove to be another act of reckless bravado that I will live to regret. Can I ask everyone to turn away from the road at about 7.30 so I can do my (noisy) impression of the little engine that could(n't quite) unseen?
Slightly heartened by the weather - I had managed to convince myself that wet roads would lead to some wheelspinning horror as I tried to crest the hill.

I rode up it last night at a snail's pace and there was nobody about. What time were you there? If the weather is as expected tomorrow there is going to be a lot of wheel slippage on the steep section.

I must have been there about 6:45–7:15, there was a RaphaCondor guy blitzing it around then also. Didn't find the wetness to be a problem but I clearly wasn't trying hard enough. Was leaving just as the downpour started.

Looking forward to (watching) this.
Anticipating some top game faces and pain-cave action.

I took Winston's post to mean the weather was meant to be better. Then I checked the BBC wesbite. Big splodge of blue over central London. Feeling slightly sick ...

when you are on the start and Caspar gives you the 3 finger countdown, big deep breaths.. empty your mind, focus just on the road for 2 mins, steady start and then slowly grind it out.. you will be a hero at the summit.. jake and the catch team will be waiting for.. you are going to love it, the crowds, the atmosphere. .trust me
