" illegally congregating within one mile of parliament"
This law was specifically and unsuccessfully introduced to to Target Brian Haw on the first of August 2005, which makes you twenty now, I have to say you're not wearing well TS.Er, I don't think so... It's the reason I and many others were arrested on that night back in the early 80s... AFAIAA it was introduced to curb all the anti-Cruise missile demos that were happening around that time...

It isn't a protest though, I can do what I want.

I like tramps' bedrooms and I like MP's wallets but which is better? There's only one way to find out..
-
• #37
I went and took a moment there yesterday, this will all pass, an astonishing mans flexing of a freedom we no longer posess will be forgotten and Parliament square will only be for tourists, the venal and state sanctioned protests whatever the blistering fuck that might be or involve...
-
• #38
State sanctioned protest, can you feel it Eric Blair?
-
• #39
I had no idea he went in for that sort of 'treatment'. You can't really imagine a patient with advanced cancer being very comfortable there in Parliament Square whatever the treatment, and his prospects were never very good, but this is really sad.
Quite amazing determination to stick it out there in protest. RIP Mr Haw.

You do realise that you're not only expressing pleasure at the death of an individual to cancer, but you're also effectively holding the cleanliness of parliament sq above raising awareness of the illegal iraq invasion, and the 100,000's of deaths and destruction it's caused.
You silly prick

I don't know what his diagnosis was, but based on what I have read I would imagine it would be Small Cell Lung Carcinoma (SCLC), this is a particularly brutal disease with a 5 year survival rate of about 5% in the UK. When faced with such odds people who exhibit the kind of dogged determination that Mr Haw clearly had often look outside of conventional medicine. Unfortunately there is more often than not some unscrupulous quack (I actually prefer the term conman) who is only too willing to lighten a patients' wallet to administer "medicine" based on nothing more than anecdotal evidence and gut feeling, as opposed to medicine based on randomised clinical studies that adhere rigidly to scientific principle and are overseen by ethics comities. The blame always lies with the quack, not with the desperate person who wants nothing more than to extend their life.

What a jolly successful law.
The defense was amazing, this act states that from the time it is passed, blah blah blah blah. As Mr.Haw's protest has been in effect since before this Bill was passed into law it is inherently excluded from the bill's area of concern. Ergo, fuck you!!!!!!one1111one!.
