John - can you again request that people come properly equipped. Last time there were groups of people (in some cases 5 or 6) with one spare tube between them and no pump.

Some only had two beers.

MG - can't you borrow someone's bike just for the bridges ride? i have a girl's shopper (sturmey hub) for e.g. but it weights about as much as Tower Bridge, so you could do better!

^ good idea. I've got a spare hybrid you could borrow (with a glorious surfeit of gears!) that weighs less than Tower Bridge but probably a little more than an HGV. I'm sure somebody would have a proper bike, though.

hmmm, am seriously considering this one, I'd been pondering planning something simular, and had even got as far as peering at routes.

And MrsMrDrem might be up for coming out again, what sort of speed do people hit this route at?

rolling speed is respectable (bordering on excercise!). but we stop at red lights and we stop a lot to bunch up after traffic conditions have strung us out. and to drink. and to piss. it's very stoppy, but this means you get to meet a lot of people.

We don't jump reds, or got the wrong way up one ways, and we certainly don't ride drunk. In fact we don't do anything naughty, except occasionally lie.

Good to see the bridges rides are still running. I shall check my diary!

Dear OLC, thankyou but I would like to enjoy my first bridges ride hence wanting the steamroller with me plus getting about London the day before and day after the tourney will be a stress too. Forward planning will probably solve the issue and I'll be riding fixed!
