  • Love that.

  • Dieter Rams documentary that usually costs is free for the next 24-48hrs or so:

  • Nice one, thanks. Missed it when Gary Hustwit had it up for free.

  • I missed it too earlier in the month, cheers!

  • Yay!! USM delivery and time to add on more to this...

  • That’s nice, what is it?

  • Any ideas for elegant tv bank solutions? Bit of an oxymoron I know. Faux art deco ish would be great

  • Thanks I think you may have solved my tv bank woes

  • How did you not? There’s online configurators for this...

  • Yeah, typical me i just looked at it and thought I know what I need...I also had bits left over in the basement so was trying to be frugal. Annoying as it’ll cost me another £10 postage

  • ha! Looks great!

  • Not sure if this is the right thread but bought a nice 60s Danish teak and copper lamp on eBay recently. Bought a shade from John Lewis that turned out to be way bigger than I'd pictured but I quite like it.

  • Goes well with the Buckie

  • It's about time it got the spotlight it deserves.

  • Not sure if this is the right place but oh well.

In my search for a day bed that I like, which could be used in a single room and which isn't hideously expensive, I like this Ferm living day bed from their new collection - https://fermliving.com/products/kona-bed-natural-oak-veneer

but it seems pretty expensive for what it is, plus I have two of the Muji foldable mattresses, so was thinking how easy it would be to make something similar but to fit those. My initial idea would be get the measurements and then get someone to build it in cad and cut sheets to size and slot them together...or is it going to look naff?

My ideal would be the Bautier guest bed but it's just so £££

  • Finally ordered the missing bits, put some random books in and found a Stephen Wiltshire postcard, must have came with a larger drawing we have.

  • that's got to be stupidly easy to build. you could just send a cutting list to a timber merchant, all from 18mm pale ply and knock it together.

Reminds me of the Judd Libary bed or Wintergarden bed (but not quite as good imo)

  • Looks great. I am going for the glass display case about the same size. Your floorboards trigger me though, are you going to treat them or leave as is?

  • You’ll hate me but it’ll all be covered in Amtico. Kitchen has just been done and the rest of the ground floor is next week.

Even though it’s insulated under the floor boards in the basement, it’s too cold to leave them bare.

  • That is very, very nice.

I already have something similar but this seems like a very good price given rrp

  • Looks great. I’ll have to look into amtico. Any reason you didn’t go with real wood?

  • I’ve had oak in my last two places and while it looks great it does not wear well. The kitchen is a high traffic area and the floor will get wet and have stuff dropped on it. Cost wise it’s about the same as real wood, so we thought we’d give it a go. Was worried it would look like plastic but happy so far.
