  • would anyone like my copy of Logic Pro X in exchange for Ableton 9 live?
Fallen in love with Ableton but cant fork out the cash for the full version and have logic just sitting around.

  • Anyone recommend a place for short run cassette tape duplication?

  • This is just a quick 'testing the water' post to see if anyone might be interested in buying my Roli Seaboard rise 49...
Its in immaculate condition, with original box, padded case, basically everything it came with.
I think they still sell for about £950...I'm looking for £650

I'll know today if I'm definitely selling it, as it's dependant on whether or not I get another piece of equipment today. :)
The Roli is awesome, but as I already have a Seaboard grand which I got crazy cheap it's harder to justify keeping both when I'm looking at another piece too. :)

Message me if you're interested or have any questions.

  • Ok, I didn't win the other equipment, so looks like I'll be hanging onto the rise too.
    For now.... :)

  • Anybody here produce UK Garage? Been living in North London for like a year now and looking for new people to collab with.

Apologies if this is the wrong thread

  • Other than gearslutz does anyone know of a decent forum to trade/sell plugins?

  • Anyone on here looking for a headphone amp?...

  • Cheers @EB, I'll take a look.

  • I'm pretty impressed with the Tascam interfaces for a budget USB option - they will record multitrack audio to an ipad too, if that's of any interest! More money, go for RME every time.

  • ^^^ lovely

I just picked up an Access Virus TI. Not even scratched the surface yet, what a beast of a synth.

  • That's pretty damn cool Bref. Can't listen here. Will give it a blast tonight.

  • V different from my folksy stuff - more like my old band really. Either way it's quite unique sounding. Hope you like it.

  • Fair enough, you might find this approach quite limiting with only two channels of recording but a small mixer is always useful and at least this way you can concentrate on getting the sound right 'live'. There's also nothing stopping you recording one part at a time when you've got the arrangement sorted!
I have a focusrite Safire LE I'd be willing to donate to a good home (4 ins at once) when I'm back from holiday... FireWire though.

  • How many simultaneous audio inputs do you need at once? There are many cheaper options depending on how many ins you need.

  • Soundcraft signiture MTK series is reasonable if you have to have a hardware mixer combined with the interface http://www.gear4music.com/PA-DJ-and-Lighting/Soundcraft-Signature-12-MTK-Analogue-Mixer-with-USB/18EK
I've found that setting up a mix with interface software is surprisingly ok though. Obviously not tactile but you get presets and a lot of routing flexibility. Most modern interfaces will let you use them without the computer as well (and some record to USB stick), so you don't have to be sat in front of a screen once you have the mix set up.

  • If you can find one cheap, a QSC touchmix 8 might do the job.
Seem to get really good reviews...
As far as I know they cover what you want to do? Assuming you can live without the knobs?
    Cheap one HERE

  • Focusrite Saffire and an Octopre perhaps?

  • Yeah it does! That particular one is 14-in/12-out (so 14 channels recorded separately at once and 12 separate assignable outputs) and there are larger/smaller desks available in hat range. Don't worry too much about midi, you can use your current interface for that or get a cheap midi box (I use separate boxes, no problem - it's when you try to use multiple boxes for audio that you get issues).

  • Interesting bits here. I'd like the option to run 4 mics into Logic occasionally. did you mention you had a spare old Focusrite going begging Mr Hammer?

Not sure if my 2015 MBP supports firewire tho....

  • I do! It's a Safire LE so only two mic preamps but I believe it is possible to create an aggregate device in OSX and use two interfaces at once... No personal experience of how annoying it is to get working properly though.

  • This is the cheapest thing I found with four simultaneous inputs over USB:

  • I looked at this Akai thing a while back. It looks cool as fuck which goes a long way in my book.
