  • I'll have to pull out of these, with the exception of the 16th (probably).

    .

My diary management is awful. Had to move the 17th back a day, which means it clashes with WNKR, but can't be helped.

    Tricity, update your OP.

  • I have! It was the 17th, is now the 16th.

  • Ah whoop, I got muddle up, sorry man!

  • I will aim for the 9th but like others – finishing at 6 will make it tricky to get there before 7.
But my plan is to get the 18:24 from Blackfriars to arrive at Bellingham at 18:49. If I miss that train then there is the 18:42 which gets to Bellingham at 19:05. So if it was possible to leave at 7:15 rather than 7 I could be sure I can make it.

    Any joiners welcome.

  • Rosie, you didn't copy your map link to the start across into the OP. I'm tentatively in for the 9th. I've been meaning to make one of these for years!

You on a Brompton? Otherwise no bikes on trains before 19.00h.

So I didn't. Will fix shortly.

Happy to make it 7.15 if that makes it feasible for people.

  • yes please to 7:15 ~

  • 7.15 it is! Fingers crossed for better weather than today.

    You're right and I'm a fool!

But as it's 7:15 I might make it if I ride...

  • you should be fine if you leave at 6, it's not as far as it sounds :)

  • where are you leaving from KRZ? I can provide a guided tour of the A2/ A20/ A21 =P

  • I leave from Farringdon – you serious about a guided tour? Sounds pretty exciting.

  • the Old Kent Road/ Lewisham Way is always exciting
can meet you at Bricklayers Arms roundabout and ride down if you like

  • Great! I'll be there about 6:25 if that's ok with you?

  • Yup, that should give us enough time. I'll be by the OKR exit ~

  • ^ excellent before afterworker work

In an uncharacteristic fit of organisation I did a recce of the route tonight. Apparently Wednesday is pie and a pint night (for £7.95) at the pub. I will probably have a pint and some crisps because I have a questionable interpretation of a healthy balanced diet, but anyone up for a pie is very welcome. But! The kitchen closes at 8.30 so if we have any mechanicals/delays we might be cutting it a bit fine. We can always send 6pt ahead with food orders if it's looking iffy, though.

    Here's the route:

It's a bit draggy and not very scenic to Chislehurst but gets rural fairly quickly after that and there's an ace spinny bit down to Shoreham after Chelsfield. Starhill is a little unpleasant but we'll be fuelled by that point and it's the last hill (and the only one on the whole route of note). After that it's a sweep down the A21 all the way back to Catford. Easy.

  • oh and paging Corlis Benefideo:

  • I've been told that Harveys is crap boring beer for simple people. :(

  • Oh. Have you been recommended an alternative? Something craft with an edgy name like Unicorn Piss Drinkers Club I hope?

  • yeah that's it. It should come from America too.

  • Stewart Lee did a good bit about pretend folksy beer this week, giving examples of Hadrons Collision, Gandalfs Memory Stick and Hogwarts Bukkake.

  • I would probably buy Gandalf's Memory Stick. Especially if they sold it in Pratt's Bottom.

  • god I kinda wanna come tomorrow but I think I will be content with cycling around central london for worky meetings and house surveys* and the like and then east for the evening. come east... it's futile I think but if you still have an itch when you get back come to mile end park. am I rambling?

  • They don't have Harveys in Mile End Park. Say HB to Kris from me though.

Hope the survey stuff goes well.
