In whenever you go to that diner... :D

That pub at the top of bower lane would also make an excellent pit stop. Just throwing it out there. Tom knows the one.

horse and hounds or something. plus shoreham is pub-rich, and eynsford is beautiful of a summer everning. so much choice in manageable radius. still got to hit the one at the top of Toys too...

• #1855
I have a pub list which I will post when I am not late and on phone and flapping.
-
• #1856
Quite possibly in for this too.
Though I say that, but realistically I'll just watch this thread and not come on any of the rides...

Sunny in Greenwich!
IN FOR RIDES. Get me out of my post-work funk Rosie! Need super touring-ready legs for summer!

OK let's do it. Thursday 3 April?
Pub in Cudham or diner on Polhill? This is Cudham (I will try to find a less rubbish route out than through Bromley):

This is diner:

(this may not work in firefox because the internet is stupid)

How about the Golding Hop, some time? That place was nice.

In! Both solid routes too.

Yeah there are a few others around there I'd like to try. Slightly further out though - my route from Catford is 25 miles to the Golding Hop, which might be a bit much for early on in afterworker season.

Thursday is ideal as Fridays is the only day where I have to get up at 6.00h!
-
• #1865
Don't think I can make the first one, as the LFGSS AGM is that night, but I'd be up for these after that.
-
• #1866
I want in but I am working that night :(
Can't swap as I already tried for the above mentioned meeting! -
• #1867
I can't do Thursday either.. definitely the next one!
-
• #1868
Actually I'm not sure I can now either. Good start.
-
• #1869
Start as you mean to go on!

I'm gonna be cycling up volcanoes in Tenerife next week but I'm totally into this when I return. Is it a strictly fixed affair? What's the pace like?
-
• #1871
Gears welcome, I will probably be usually geared at least for the first ones as my fixed needs a bit of work to get the set up comfy to do longer rides on.
Pace is probably about 15mph. Maybe 14-15mph. They're not meant to be fast rides, just a gentle way to get some miles in as the evenings grow lighter and see Kent looking lovely (and visit some nice pubs). Meet some horses, play with some bats. Have a wee in a field. That kind of thing.

Might I suggest The Carpenters Arms, Limpsfield Common, for a future jolly? It's not too far out, it's a Westerham Brewery pub so a bit novel, and on a quiet common at the top of Moorhouse Road which is a nice gentle twisty tree-covered climb. Quite pleasant. And you can always pop into the Maccy D's at Clacket Lane services if you're feeling peckish...

• #1873
Well then. I'd better add it to the list.
I was trying to work out if the pub in Knockholt just after Star Hill looks any good, but it doesn't really. So I think it'll have to be pub then Star Hill. Might make it more fun? :/
-
• #1874
That pub is ok, and it serves Harveys I think. Actually I'm talking about the three horseshoes. No idea about the harrow inn, which is the one you mean. I think.
-
• #1875
I did mean the Harrow, but confirming that I have discovered there is a hot tub manufacturer, a pet photographer and a bouncy castle provider in Knockholt. Party town.
Lies! I've never done a 120 mile afterworker. 100 yes, but 120 would be silly.
Or maybe it wouldn't. Would it?
