It's seeded. Why:
By seeding the first round in Swiss you essentially ensure more accurate results (and evenly matched games) more quickly. You will have a more accurate top and bottom table in the second round, where as random would need two or three rounds to get similar rankings. That is, by making the top ranked teams play the bottom ranked teams you ensure the second round has the top ranked teams playing the top ranked teams, and the bottom ranked teams playing the bottom ranked teams, giving a fairly accurate mid-table (teams who have lost one game and won one game) by the third round. Random wouldn't do this. (As I said, with random, by the third round, you could still have teams who are essentially bottom ranked teams at the top of the table because they've had a lucky draw in their first two rounds).
i totally understand why it's done, just wanted to check if it is being done. how many rounds might one be expected to play? if it's only 4-5, then i totally agree with seeding.

5.
And I don't think it matters how many rounds - it's always better to seed as far as I can work out. Obviously the benefits it offers begin to drop as the number of rounds begins to approach RR, but you get me.

but you get me.
i do indeed.

Please don't share the team list/podium link yet, it's a way of inviting people to email me with problems/concerns... which I struggle to ignore.

Hi there, we'll leave Belgium now, but didn't received an answer from Jacqui, who should host us (team La Bagarre): if you see him/ her, can you please tell to check his/ her private mailbox on this forum? I've send a message with my mobile phone number to get the housing address.
We should arrive 'round 10:30 - 11 PM and will go where polo is played... Maybe we'll ask for (another) place to stay if no answer...
Cheers ! -
