Some riders are just dicks.

I had a puncture today, no big deal,*** but I was surprised that at least half a dozen cyclists passed me by without checking that I was OK***. But a bloke on a BMW GS stopped, offered to help, and stayed for a chat while I fixed the bike. Really nice guy.
Later I passed a bloke in club kit (CC Basingstoke) getting on a bit, a respectable / professional type. A mile down the road came to a queue of cars at some traffic lights and he rode to the front, through the red light and turned right. Based on this exhaustive experience I think cyclists are bigger twats than motorcycliststhat is shite. i always slow down and ask punctured parties if they've got everything they need. where's the love? maybe they thought it's a trap and you're going to mug them - welcome to london my friend.

No sympathy
agreed.
Lol
How many hours did you spend snooping around my profile to get that multiquote? Creepy
Spend more time learning how to ride a bike in town and you might find that if you dont ride like a twat, then theres less chance of someone on another bike, motorbike or car doing the same to you.

I clicked on previous posts, took less than a min to discover you're a hypocrite. Maybe you should take your own advice and spend less time being sanctimonious on the internet

yes officer, I *heard *him just before, but there was no other traffic. and a whole lane and a half on my right.
So you didn't see him approaching then.
-
• #58
From a distance. I didn't, however, see him coming up my inside at speed, why/how would I?
-
• #59
before we start, bear in mind I'm not trying to argue with you, the scooter rider was an idiot to undertake a pushbike at speed as he shoukl've known better.
However, were you able to have a good road positioning, looking back more often (communication, etc.), you'll be able to reduced the likeihood of the rider from undertaking you at speed.

Agreed, but I thought middle of the bus lane was good positioning. I normally look behind frequently but it's not unreasonable to think a single moped would be happy with a whole lane and a half to himself.

Oh ffs, shut up Scoble. Is it your mission in life to patronise people for the way they ride? You just jump into threads and start dishing out your pearls of wisdom, you've been riding a bike for five minutes compared to some people on here. And, as I've pointed out before, I nearly knocked your missus off her bike when you dragged her through a red at Russell Square a little while back. People in glasshouses and all that...
Time to start using ignore again.

Taking the whole bus lane is a good move (especially with the reduced traffic), but the cycle lane doesn't help as it create an extra 'lane', so even when you're on the bus lane, the presence of the cycle lane give the illusion that there's a lots more room to undertake than to overtake, which doesn't help.
Markyboy, I don't remember 'dragging' the ex through a red at Russell Square, and to be honest I can't remember anything about it as I'm usually cautious with her around, can you elaborate the scenario more?
Secondly, like I said before, nobody's perfect, that incident is likely to be an error on my part misjudging the situation (as I never jump red light either way), people are allowed to make mistake and learn from it.
Thirdly, that incident according to you happen a year and a half ago, hardly 'a little while' back.

just stopped to wait in the green shaded cycle box to turn right from upper street on to pentonville road this morning (when green light straight on to st johns st and turning right have to wait an extra 20 secs) some complete prick on a trials bike comes screaming down upper street overtaking the traffic on the wrong side of the road, swerves to the left of the pedestrian crossing at the junction, misses me right arm by about 5 inches, and shoots off down st john st. you sir are a MASSIVE FUCKING TWAT
