Yep sure do - it's the only tool I have left in my garage that Colin hasn't borrowed from me (yet).

Great stuff, does it work on shimano octalink as well? I'm taking them cranks off and fitting new hollowtech ones.
EDIT -- looking at the docs for my bicycle it says I've got a octalink BB but from all the pictures it looks just like a hollowtech one.
Would you mind if I borrowed the tool? If it doesn't take my current crank set off I know I'll need something else.
-
• #4
No, don't think it does, sorry...
Hollowtech are the external shells yeah?
-
• #5
Mine has external cups - but as per above I'm not 100% sure.
I've got a octalink tool at home if I need it.
Do you mind if I borrow the hollowtech? I'll have it back to you after the weekend (If things go to plan!)
Also does your tool have a bit to tighten the black cap on the cranks?
-
• #6
No worries - can either bring it into work with me, or you can come pick it up one evening. Yep it has the other tool bit too.
-
• #7
I'm done with most of your tools. As soon as I put the BB one the Pompino.

Don't suppose anyone has the tools to fit a headset?? I can get a FA orbit XLII online for £25.
-
• #9
Rubber mallet?
-
• #10
Funny you should say that - I'm just about to buy a headset press... I've already got a headset cup remover on the way. Welcome to bring it over once they turn up and I'll sort.

I'm not sure where to put this request but......anyone got a pair of shoes with SPD cleats fitted that I could borrow for a day or two? Size 9 or 10. Reason is I've fitted a new pair of SPD pedals to try clipless riding. This was not a problem.
Go to try and put the cleats into my shoes and realise that the heads on the allum/hex bolts have rounded out and they have also rusted into the plates so I can't get the new cleats fitted. Cue mucho swearing.
I don't want to buy a new pair of shoes only to find that I don't like clipless hence my request. Will repair in beer if anyone can help.

My shoes would be far too big for you, however I got old cleats out by hammering a torx wrench that was just a little too big into the old rounded hex key slot - worked a treat.
-
• #13
Cheers, I'll give it a try. Worst case, I think I'll just drill the bolt out and get another one.
-
• #14
Yeah I was considering that had the aforementioned not worked, it's not like they're expensive.
-
• #15
Dya want me to remove the cleats for you? I have all of the tools here.
Also i have got some size 9s kicking about somewhere. Will let ya know if i find them. -
• #16
Cheers, I'm going to try whacking them out this afternoon but if not that would be good. I'll give you a shout.
-
• #17
Ok cool. I have some bolt extractors here if ya get in a muddle.
-
• #18
jdp: I have some size 42 Specializeds you are welcome to borrow if they fit
-
• #19
If you have rounded an allen hex off in a countersunk bolt, try hammering a slightly oversized torx bit in there, somtimes that will give you enough bite to get the old bolts out without any drilling or cutting or other destruction
-

^Re ;)
-
• #21
^^^ Cheers, I'll give you a bell.
I'll try the torx trick but I think the bolt may be rusted in anyway so will probably need Mark cutting gear.
-
• #22
oh yeah, whoops
-
• #23
Does anybody have the tools and/or know how on removing a bloody stubborn cotter pin? Tried just about everything, its really really stuck.
-
• #24
Heat it up?
Drill it out?
Come accros some that needed a lot of brute force but never found one totally stuck before? -
• #25
what does drilling it out actually involve?
So I thought it would be a good idea for us to start up a request/ lend a tool thread.
I'll start by asking does anyone have a Shimano hollowtech BB tool?
