It's an SLR so belongs in the bin anyway.

This is just phone pictures, will try and take some proper ones, as it's very tricky to focus.
Few month ago I had a collision with a car, since then the saddle was creaking, because of this crack. The other rail seems to be fine, this one is moving about with some pressure applied.
Thanks! -

That's like saying bin all the shoes size 6 and 12, because they don't fit me.

The saddle is surprisingly comfy.

Yeah, thought so. Kinda wished there was a chance of bringing it back to life.

That is only true if all shoes in the sizes that don't fit me are horrifically ugly.

Until it breaks and inserts its carbony goodness into your sphincter.

Hey, if that happens, feel free to refrain from posting pictures.

Nah... Pics or it didn't happen.

That is quite easy to repair but the end result wouldn't be pretty and the cost (resins, fibre, time) would be greater than a new saddle

£240?
-
• #88
Is that how much they are?
Yep, I can repair it, for £239.99 -

Dibs. I'm sure they were 400 quid when they were released.

I've paid a lot less for that saddle. Who wants to buy it and then post pictures for hippy?
-
• #91
I could just do it myself. I'm like totally sure those super lightweight saddles are fine for larger riders, like, totally.

Looking to get a carbon wheel repaired, I think it's do-able.
Can anyone suggest a good carbon repair place in the UK. I live near Leeds so anywhere there ideal though could post it.
Thanks.

not sure why it posted in here?

It didn't, I merged it. Have a look up-thread, there's a few places mentioned.

So I've got a cracked carbon saddle...
Not a large crack, but a crack nonetheless. The crack is on the edge of the saddle about halfway down the body and is hard to see even if I put pressure on it.
Is there a way I can fix it or is there a magical carbon wizard who can help save it?

I work with composites and I would say that's pretty much irreparable. Looks like lots of fibre breakage has occurred so unless you mean entirely replacing the rail I would bin it, or make it into a high-end bar stool.
Edit: really can't tell much from the photo though, take a few more pics?
