not true....
its just practice, doesnt really matter what gear you're on, ask sandercock.

Trust me, it's insane. The higher your gearing the harder it is to rock back and fourth.

He rides some beastman sized gear like a 55/16 or something. He rides it like a machine though, those little legs know how to handle it.

Would one be at a disadvantage not knowing Newcastle's roads at all? Or do you think I could just sneaky follow someone else (slow)?

It's gonna be a bit different this time to help those who dont know the city that well, so yes you could just follow everyone else for this one. Still gotta be fucking speedy though!

hah... I might have to come and find out what 'fucking speedy' is beforehand.

I'm not 100% but I don't think I'll be able to race in this, it's all dependent on how easy it is to bring my bike up on the train
