  • By the way I really love the camera It's a bargain and for the price it's a really cool little gadget to have :)

Thanks. I'm glad you like it!

  • Camera is pretty good. Though at night time, it's like you're on ACID relaying back to the video. Trippy stuff. The shutter drops quite significantly so you get motion trails from mainly the lights.

All in all It's worth the cash! Keep in mind not to place it on the bars, as Philxthomas mentioned, not a good idea. Although you may be a steady rider, the slightest move just throws you off. (Obviously)

I did actually buy one from eBay because I needed it as soon as. No strap though, so I used an elastic band. Sorry Singspeed.

  • Thats cool mate. As I said before I mainly brought this to the forum to share what I think is pretty good value.

Update: still have about 15 cameras left due to not hearing back from some people. All orders up to now have been sent off.

If you havent ordered one an want one you can PM me, but Im going away for a few days so will dispatch on tuesday/wednesday next week.

    Michael

  • Quick query, did you get anywhere with modifying one for IR? I'm tempted by a couple to compliment my current camera (one for rear views, and one with IR for night riding) but am really most interested in the IR view one

    cheers!

  • Has anyone else sorted the time out yet, as I'm having to use one of my old Micro Cards, I didn't have a time.txt file to update the time on the camera, has anyone else fathomed it out as the parameters in the instructions don't seem to work for me.

Tried creating a file with: -

2011/06/15 12:45:00 and that had no joy and messed around with the date format as well but no joy.

  • C'mon Singspeed, do us a favour and answer my PM's...ta

  • I wonder if you could mod it with some small springs

    ha! err, no.
Could try as a pendant on a string, but head is a stable thing and always points in the right direction.

Im out of the country for a few days and I mentioned that on this thread. Checked for the first time today with my mobile internet and found your PMs. Im back on monday night and will be able to help you then. Cheers

  • Can somebody take a quick snap with this mounted on their bars / helmet please? I am completely baffled by how this strap is meant to securely hold the camera in place! Cheers

  • Anyone know of a helmet cam with a battery that will last for 8 hours? A friend wants to record her etape ride and all the cams ive seen top out at 4 hours. Obviously prepared to sacrifice picture quality for battery life.

  • Still have some of these left. I'm going away again on SUNDAY so if you have asked for one and haven't paid yet drop me the money before then so you get it sooner!

  • This is a good deal of fun, didn't quite get the video quality of the first two vids on this thread, but pretty passable for such a small camera... Singspeed - it appears there are two models of camera in your batch! Mine prints the timestamp on a black background [for anyone who's wondering, there are 10 versions of this camera, and the way to tell them apart is by the timestamp format].

In terms of the stability, tried it on my head today, was ok, but makes you realise just how much looking around you do on a ride ;) Will try it on bars and head tube tomorrow.

People, if you want to take the shakes out of your videos, use VirtualDub http://www.virtualdub.org/ with the plugin http://www.guthspot.se/video/deshaker.htm. Instructions are all on the websites, if you also use Windows Movie Maker you'll need plugins for the wmv format too, or convert back to avi first. Deshaker is pretty easy to use, don't be put off by all the options, you get decent results just by using the preset ones. It gets confused by violent movements, making the edge of the screen blurry, but the centre of the image becomes nice and stable to watch. Been using it for years to remedy my shaky camera hand whilst riding single handed on a bumpy towpath and trying not to drop into the river!

Hope someone finds this helpful in some way!

  • Thanks for the info Chowdown, was good to meet you last week.

I'm now back from holiday so PMs will be answered quickly again. I still have a few of these cameras left.

  • Took my cam on my L2P but buggered up the filming as I had it pointing too high, but what footage I had was good and relatively shake free, grab one whilst you can.

  • Glad you like it, mounting on the head tube seems to get rid of the problem as it usually vertically positions the camera dead centre.

I have a handful of these sitting around. Get em while they're still hot!
