No Jess it doesn't look big. Looks good :) ha. I appreciate the female bottom :)

That's great mate but I don't need you to point it out on here. It's embarrassing and undermines me as a female cyclist who wants to feel comfortable in whatever she wears without fellow riders perving on her in public, tah!

• #54
Calm down.
-
• #55
What so it's completely acceptable to make remarks with sexual connotations about my body on a public forum humiliating me in front of my peers and the people I arranged the ride for?!
-
• #56
It's not the place for it though really is it? Why does my ass HAVE to be commented on?! I don't think what I said to him was a big deal either. It was a calm request from a mate who puts up with a few too many innuendos. I'm asking to be given a bit more respect in our Birmingham cycling community and considering you're not part of it and don't know the underlying context to this conversation then you have no informed opinion. Now it's been made into a big deal which it didn't need to be.

Yes of course, he obviously thinks it's funny but I find it embarrassing and I want the focus of the ride to have been on the people that came and where we went instead of my fucking ass! All I asked is for him not to comment on it here. There was no need for either of you to comment on it.

Yep editing your posts didn't work.
Why on earth would I want to use it to my advantage!? I'm perfectly chilled out. I'm making a simple and innocent request. You guys commenting is continuing the debate. Saying that I'm digging a hole implies that I'm in the wrong somehow.

I removed "wow etc" because I thought it may cause offence somehow.
I had no idea that might be considered offensive?!

This has been pretty pointless. Le sigh. Fin, can you just delete this thread and we'll put the pics elsewhere?
-
• #62
The post was sexist and derogatory and fair-play to call someone out on it if your threshold for such things was exceeded. I don't think it could be argued that your are in the wrong.
Perhaps a simple PM to the poster to amend/delete could have avoided all this bollocks, but i suppose that sort of non-confrontational solution would condone such comments.
What i really want to know is if anyone has really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

i didn't see your original comment paul, but you've got to understand it must get tiresome (or creepy) having your appearance discussed repeatedly on a public forum. so the guy himself knows her and considers it banter (although he should really be able to read whether it's welcome or not). but anyway the thread is public and fair enough that MG would rather the conversation didn't go that way.
the comment doesn't seem outrageous but i guess it's the drip, drip effect of this kind of unwanted crap that got a reaction

+1
sam, you took the words right out of my mouth -

I didn't think it would be a big deal to simply bloody ask him not to point it out in future. It wasn't just that single comment I was picking up on, it's the general attitude and unwanted attention. It's a ride thread and I didn't want to detract from the ride itself.
I meant Fin aka Hyper Allah aka the moderator btw.

cool photos btw, people really embraced the double denim. good to see Roolbg is up and riding and sporting some natty denim, he had a bad crash at polo a while back

Cheers Si. Resident star documenter EMM took them. I'm super glad people made the effort even though the evening started off rainy! Hats off to him and his lady friend who made a cool DD themed jacket.

London needs a double denim ride fo' sho'!

Choose a leisurely route/pace for sure. The chafing isn't the best if like me you opt for skinny jeans and a heavy jacket! I don't know how those fashionable kids do it.

When I was a kid I had a denim blanket. Damn thing was so heavy I'd wake up with headaches. If I still had it I'd wear it as a cape.

you've mentioned this denim blanket before Tibbs, but still the mind boggles.
-
• #72
God damn I loved that blanket. I was a cowboy even in my sleep.

I have a blanket with denim one side and synthetic fur the other. It's weirdly comfy!

If London has a Double Denim, we'll be there! A right good ride was had, thanks to Jess for leading the way and if you organise something else there's a good chance I'll come up / be around for it, and hopefully with either a better bike, Rosa would be up for it too. Nice to meet you all and look forward to seeing you about.
As an aside, Rosa is many things, but "lady" is not one of them, its a word she doesn't identify as and resents being called, I'm sure you understand, and I'd always thought the "ladies" sub-forum was named ironically, but that's just me...
TVM you lovely people. I'm writing funding applications as we speak and the more evidence of cycle culture in Birmingham the better!
