Climbing towards the $1000 mark again. I purchased some the other day at $820
I have taken to having a live market tab open all day to keep an eye on things.
I wonder how many people are making a living as day traders selling Bitcoin.
In the UK probably very few based on that article posted the other day. Will the UK banks let you open up a business account with the purpose of BTC trading -

I'm not sure how you could - It's not as if you can trade the fundamentals, there's too much volatility and uncertainty, no liquidity, and large relative transactional barriers and costs. You would be better off putting £1,000 across a few favourites at Chepstow.

Unless he sells them now and makes beer money for Friday.

Yeah probably not as a day trader but they must surely start becoming part of a serious investors portfolio.
I used to know a few people who made a very decent living solely on Betfair. You really need to know what you are doing though -

Whereas at the moment with Bitcoin, any dickhead can jump in and make money..
And they are..
And then it will crash..
And I will profit.
Maybe.

Or you could've have taken your btc 7 days ago. Bought Ltc and seen it quadruple.
Though that's in hindsight but still that is where I've stuck my cash.

I bought a bunch a while ago. I'd double my money now but I don't need to so I'm just gonna hang onto them and see what happens. Let the 'investors' win and lose their fortunes.

No "serious investor" would touch them with a bargepole, and for the reasons that I mentioned earlier. -

Whether or not they are serious, I dunno, but they sound it. They might just be watching..

Or just speculating and trying to make a fast buck on volatility.
That's not investing.

Wanna bet?
That's pretty much what Bitcoin "investment" is. It's a bet.
From your linked article:
Fortress itself looked at the idea. The market capitalization of the entire stock of Bitcoin in existence is $2.2 billion, and Fortress decided it was too speculative an investment for its own funds.

From your linked article:
What investment isn't a bet then?
Bitcoin isn't regulated in the same way i.e. know your customer regulation doesn't apply in general so you can do it relatively discreetly and without too much hassle if that's what you need , paypal is fairly subject to whatever the US wants it to do and will bend over backwards to comply with US law wherever you can do whatever you want with bitcoin
If you think of any currency as being worthless unless people use it then that's your answer i.e. brixton pound is relatively worthless compared to the US dollar because of the people who use and support the currency by using and trading in it are much more with the $ , so if you mint your own coins their worthless until people actually want to use them as a currency whereas bitcoin has a user base and worthwhile value
