  • My hd25's are 60ohm and works great with my iPhone. I think. Compared to loads of other headphones at least. Or do I need to buy something more please?

  • Would Sir like some open-back headphones? I can recommend the Grado.

  • Why thank you Sir but I like my closed ones, they're just as much for closing out office noise as for playing music.

  • Kboy, the iphone 3gs, 4 & 4s both have more than enough power for the sennheisers but I've noticed older models have a really weak output.
Unless you're in an extremely loud environment you shouldn't really need to amp it.

  • do any of the cowon have digital radio / FM radio ?

yes yes FM radio ... you know that thing we all used to sit around as kids listening intently to the pop charts .. my current musical source is a mobile phone with FM picks up the pirate dance stations perfectly.

  • The Cowon D2 that I have has both DAB radio and FM radio.

I prefer DAB when not moving, as DAB tends to just cut out totally if it can't get a full signal... it's basically the problem with digital. You get all the signal or no signal, there's nothing inbetween.

So when mobile I tend to listen to FM radio. The sound degrades gracefully with a weak signal, so it's perfect in the car or on a train.

The Cowon J3 I lost had an FM radio but not DAB.

I think nearly every Cowon has an FM radio built-in.

  • Though, we're back to the incredible Sansa Clip+
    http://www.sandisk.co.uk/products/sansa-music-and-video-players/sandisk-sansa-clipplus-mp3-player

That has an FM radio built-in.

  • Bumping this ancient thread to ask ... on the hunt for a digital music player, probably 32GB ish, maybe with radio... anyone got any tips? It's for my son who is keen on having files rather than streaming. Will probably need to interface with iTunes, could consider others though.

  • Don't sony do a new mp3 Walkman with radio. I was looking awhile back for DAB radio with mp3 but couldn't find anything that didn't look like it was gonna fall apart after a month in the pocket.. I gave up.

    Sorry not much help

  • I'm still using an iPod touch, you can get them 2nd hand, pretty reasonable prices.

  • iPod nano would tick the box too, 5th generation (2009) onwards had an FM radio option although they're only 16GB storage.

The Sandisk Sansa Clip's aren't quite as slick, but are 32GB and do have FM radio too. I had an older more basic model of those for a while that had a MicroSD slot - if I knew where it was I'd happily send on for nothing but will need to go through some boxes to stand a chance!
