phatyack (Alex) is an awesome fellow, stayed with him in BCN for the Euros, would have offered him my single spot had I not been allocated someone already!

I'm planning on driving down from Birmingham on Saturday morning. How is parking in the area? Do you need a permit or something? Could I park up somewhere Saturday morning and leave the car there until Sunday night?
-

PARKING:
North of the courts, up towards Stoke Newington Common (around Brooke Road), there's no parking restrictions on street parking, so you'll be fine to park all weekend, you'll just have to drive around for a bit to find a space if it's busy.

The three sisters pub right at the south east corner of Hackney Downs.

Where will be the throw ins on friday ?
-
• #287
There's a polocat at Downham, I imagine there will be throwins before that.
But I'm sure you could probably organise games at any of the other courts, a lot of people will probably want to play a bit before the tournament proper. -
• #289
There will be throw-ins Friday at Downham with a BBQ (volunteer needed) if it's nice.
There will be court building at Downs from midday onwards (Ali also needs people to help load the van Friday morning from 9am onwards).
Max's Polocat starts at 7pm at Downham, be there or be square.
The tourney starts at 9am on Saturday morning, don't be late!

What about The Pembury Tavern, just down the road?
-
• #291
From what I understand we weren't able to book the Pembury (although it would have been perfect, so that sucks). And it's going to be busy on a Saturday night. So showing up with as much as 150+ people wouldn't have really worked.
-
• #292
The Pembury is:
a) expensive
b) busy, with no private hire on weekends
c) lacking in bike storage
d) unwilling to do free drinks
e) unwilling to allow us to bring in own food
f) unfriendly towards smoking
g) further from the courtsSaturday night should be fun, the 3 sisters have been relaxed, accommodating and have the perfect setup for 200 odd polo people...

I've always loved The Three Sisters.

Due to Helen's broken wrist (shit), boomshakalaka is a wonderful lady down. Joe, Stu, although you don't have flame red locks, and killer lippy, do you think you could fill this lovely ladies shoes?? Or any other stragglers?
