1) A new member whom no-one really knows posted a second-hand story.
-- thats the real sticking point isn't it?...I'm new to the forum so have no reputation. Well there's nothing I can do about that...time will tell whether I make up stories and tell lies.
As to the not needing hospital treatment -- well if I'd wanted to sensationalise a la Daily Mail surely I'd have said -- "yes, he had a black eye and two broken ribs"
As to "gouging out eyes" - I said they "tried to" - he rolled up into a ball and protected his face....but hey why bother telling you guyz any of this because some of you won't believe whatever I post unless there is video footage and a signed statement from the Home Secretary.
Sure I'm new to the forum, but I'm not new to Planet Earth and my guess is I've a few decades on some of you lot. No where in any posts have I tried to portray this as a specific anti Hells Angels thread, if some of you have interpreted as that - that's your choice. From what some on here have posted I'm surprised the Angels get any riding done, what with all their charity work.
I merely posted an incident that I heard about and which I believe to be true. -

More importantly, have your mate chase it up with the police yet?
Take it on the chin, you're new here, it's perfectly reason for us to take got story with a pinch of salt and vinegar, just don't take it personally.

Pics or it didn't happen.

I'm not apologising for their behaviour, I'm throwing doubt on the accuracy of the story as originally told.
The basis for doing so is just twofold from my perspective:
1) A new member whom no-one really knows posted a second-hand story.
2) My own personal experiences of people in the group the story targets is in opposition to the portrayal in the story (of an unprovoked attack on an even-mannered gentleman). If some people (be they motorcyclists, Hells Angels or anyone) truly kicked the shit out of someone (which doesn't even sound true, no hospital visit needed so not even broken skin involved), then of course it should be condemned.
But right now, we have the hearsay of one new member without it being credibly backed up in any way, standing against the experiences of several long established members including myself whose experiences stand in stark contrast.
So it's in no way victim blaming or being apologists for anyone who might have done something, it's very heavily questioning the truthfulness and accuracy of the told story.
The second post asked the right question, what are the police doing? But as far as we know, the police haven't been approached. Even though E&C is heavily covered with cameras and it would be incredibly easy to trace them using such footage.
In fact, as far as we know the only reaction is a guy goes onto a cycling forum to jump and shout. Well, that's an effective way of dealing with things as we all know.
Is this resolved yet?
I have no doubt that many Hells Angels are upstanding members of community, nor do I get the impression that they are an active crime gang in the UK as they appear to be elsewhere. For whatever reason people are members, that's fine, but I doubt all of them are nice. For instance, they have fights, now whether they were doing this as Hells Angels or these people were coincidently Hells Angels who fancied a brawl is by the by, some Hells Angels aren't nice people.
While the OP is a new member (as am I), he isn't the only person showing anecdotal experiences of unsavorary biker behaviour, nor are you the only one saying they're not like that. It seems some people have had only positive encounters and other not so much, but to say that the entire organisation wouldn't beat someone up, when you also mention that someone having a tattoo (why they would and not be one is odd to me, admittedly) would have it forcibly removed, and it didn't read like they would have a whip round for laser removal.
Whether the OP's story checks out is a bit irrelevant to me getting the feeling of victim blaming, people were trying to explain away the actions before it transpired the cyclist didn't go to hospital. If the bizarre chase occurred, which would have, I imagine, been quite an intimidating experience, it still would have been pretty bad form for another road user to do something like that. And maybe some violence did occur, but the mild mannered middle aged men didn't do a very good job of kicking the shit out of someone, but they might still have done it. Either way, a gesture at a traffic light isn't a reason for it.
Of course the police should be dealing with it, but if this had happened to another member I wouldn't have been surprised it had a thread started about it.

With regards to the intent involved in starting this thread; I for one didn't view it as anti-HA propaganda, just a warning for people to be vigilant.

Yes...I understand the importance of sourcing to a story and accept these events cannot be independently verified, which is why I've not speculated about what the police are doing - since I don't know...
All I would ask is for people to look at posts 38, 41 and 53 -- which I believe go some way to supporting my OP/
If I'm coming across as overly sensitive...well maybe I am a bit because I know what a wreck I'd be if I'd been chased by a few guys on motorbikes and beaten up....Can you imagine what that must do to a person's self esteem?
Jeez, the few times I've had "shouty" confrontations with people I've taken days to recover...
Right I've said my piece, I've no new information to post, adding to the existing conjecture is not achieving anything -- its just a "he said" "she said" cycle

So is your friend a busybody, and a tool, or not? Srsly, why would you even look at a gang of bikers/scooters/boy racers or whatever? This is London my friend. If you want to confront people (or GANGS of people!), expect them to have a pop. Stop whining about the forum being this or that, too.

Disclaimer: My father is a van driver and has been for 40 years. I've been to rallies when much younger, and I never saw any of them needlessly get violent. They're a perfectly reasonable lot and don't differ greatly to the culture of this here cycling community.
I can also vouch for Van Driver, he's a lovely bloke who lives in the next village.

I've never met Van Driver but can vouch for Kelly Van Hire and Hertz Van Rental.

I dont doubt your friend had a run in with a bunch of bikers, my query was to whether or not they were Hells Angels, there are plenty of other biker gangs out there who are nasty fuckers, its just that IMO it would be unusual for Hells Angels to act like that.
No one has condoned anything, nor sought to justify any action taken, just get to the bottom of what happend - it has nothing to do with how long you have been a member either.

Maybe you should move. Or man up. ;)
I saw those bikers riding through Brixton. Looked a bit flabby and middle aged, I could well've spontaneously shouted kant fuck shit what are you doing before I realised there were 300 of them.

Out of interest, are the hells angels in england still considered a 1% club like they are in america or are they a more law abiding club ?

Perhaps not all the time, but their standards tend to slip every now and then.
