I think the Labour green new deal is so important and potentially a huge motivator for voters, but it's not getting enough coverage. It could actually change who votes and how and why.

According to a new U.S. Army report, Americans could face a horrifically grim future from climate change involving blackouts, disease, thirst, starvation and war. The study found that the US military itself might also collapse. This could all happen over the next two decades, the report notes.
The senior US government officials who wrote the report are from several key agencies including the Army, Defense Intelligence Agency, and NASA. The study called on the Pentagon to urgently prepare for the possibility that domestic power, water, and food systems might collapse due to the impacts of climate change as we near mid-century.

I agree but instead we are talking about are they scared of having an election and thier position on Brexit. Any other time, the 2030 commitmemnt would give them a massive platform to campaign on and sell a vision of hope and a green transformation of our society. Sad thing is, is that this kind of effort needs to start now and can't wait another five years for the following election to be debated again.

By school kids do they mean parents of school kids?
-
• #209
So unoriginal.
Also, school kids weren't born in the 70s, and in the intervening 40-50 years it's the "oldies" (relatively) that have been complicit in fucking up the planet. I'm not big on blaming the individual, but trying to put relative blame on the school-age generation is a joke. -
