Seemed to be on the wrong side of a weird rolling road block this morning. Or every other road on my route is being dug up (including my own street). Horrendous time to switch to clipless pedals in any case.
3/10 (and two of those are for the baked banana rice cakes (from Feed Zone Portables) I made yesterday. Nightmare.

Careful on those cobbles on Broadwick St, fucking jokes some of them are at 45deg so they're essentially a kind of anti-bike surface. Fun.

Try this: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=6709099
It's got a bit where you have to ignore the no right turn sign at the end of Neal St, but other than that it's ok. I'm not a fan of going through Soho if I can avoid it... -

The route through Soho I just posted is the nuts.

Notwithstanding the cobbles.

By nonsense, I meant turns.

Maybe controversial, but I am beginning to like the segregated-ness at Oval. I come up from Brixton Road and used to always stress about the mad dash into the right-hand lane of Kennington Park Road. But now it's breeze.
I do have the luxury of having the lane to myself most mornings, I might sing a different tune if I traveled in at more busy times. It really isn't wide enough and I would imagine that pedestrians can be a pain. Why is the cycle lane at pavement level?

Minor hoo ha this morning between pedestrian and cyclist at the junction of Mare St and Morning Lane. The southbound cyclist was going full pelt to turn left into Morning Lane (it was a green left filter light for him) and the pedestrian was crossing because she thought it was a red light for all traffic since she saw all the other cyclists waiting patiently at the 'straight on' red. He went bang into her and nearly knocked her over.
I felt a bit sorry for the pedestrian because during the ensuing confrontation all the other cyclists waiting at the red ganged up on her and berated her for crossing (albeit foolishly) on a red man despite the fact that the fellow on the bike was going way too fast for a busy junction. She made the point that when she's driving she looks out for cyclists making mistakes, and that cyclists should do the same for pedestrians.

Interesting have been avoid it for a while, what time do you go through it?

Forgot my phone this morning, which has my RFID pass for the office in it and I was the first one in. On the plus side I'm planning on visiting my Dad in hospital on the way home so I had backpack and real shoes with me, so off to Sainsbury's for some early shopping. The helmet clipped to the backpack led a stranded cyclist to ask me about nearby bike shops (I didn't know of any) but I was able to rejoin his broken chain for him.
He pressed £5 into my hand "for a beer" and wouldn't take no for an answer, so it seems that one can make £20 per hour by taking 15 minutes to kack-handedly join a chain on the 3rd try. All I need now is some sort of remote chain knackering gun and a good place to set up.

Actually your route is ok, but turn left on High Holborn, round St Giles and onto New Oxford St TCR. Museum St is jokes.

Saw the absolute worst example of cyclist bellendery last night on the A10 between Stamford Hill and Seven Sisters.
We're all waiting at the lights like normal people - lights are red. Anyway, this roadie comes BLASTING through the traffic at high speed, gets through the cars, gets to the other side of the road, and SCREAMS at these children crossing ON THE GREEN MAN!
Absolutely incredible.

That junction is a joke, it is meant to going one way for bikes but TFL are holding up Camden. Always on full alert for relatively blind corner up Gordon St and people nipping across from Tavistock way.
Glad you walked away from it though!

I had a look at it yesterday, seemed quite reasonable, but I was the only one there.
