I never forget Southwark but it would take me somewhat out of my way to enjoy the beneficence of their 20 mph limit.
-
• #6531
i find the miles and miles of glum looking drivers sat alone in their cars rather amusing.

I bet this has been raised elsewhere on here. But. 20 mph zones, while
they're great (they are!), isn't it more likely I'm going to get
stopped than a car? Are the zones really enforceable? In other news, bright, sunny, bit cool, still undecided whether going
through Camberwell and Walworth is better than back of Brixton and
Kennington.First, I am not sure that the speed limit applies to bicycles.
Secondly, the enforcement of cars is sporadic. However, many will obey the law and thatt number will increase. Those who will flout it are more likely to drive at 30 mph in a 20 mph zone rather than 40 mph in a 30 mph zone. Overall the speed will drop.
This morning I had a cart behind me most of the way observing the limit. Only when the road widened did another car overtake him and then jump a light. The limit gave me the compliant car. The twerp would have been a twerp whatever the limit. I count that as a plus.

I do enjoy the word clusterfuck.
Clusterfuck.

20mph limit enforcement isn't "sporadic" it's nonexistent. Even the "20mph borough" with all its banners isn't doing it right.

Only when the road widened
Considerably I'm guessing...In seriousness.
20 mph up college road/fountain drive.
The taxi driver I used on Sunday was doing 40. -
• #6536
Is Oval a bit of a clusterfuck then?
-
• #6537
headwinds, hating them, that is all..
-
• #6538
'clusterfuck' < 'omnishambles'

Great commute today, perfect weather, conscientious black cab, 0 undertaking road warriors, 0 RLJers, green lights nearly everywhere. If only commuting was like this everyday.

Oval was certainly interesting this morning, the queue was all the way back to Brixton Police Station.

Got revved at by a filtering motorbike while I was filtering, seemed to think it was ok for him to do it but not for me, judging by the look he gave me after he went past

Headwind all the way back to Kingston yesterday eve...non aero massive Wald basket on the front, single speed, Thames Path and Richmond Park were particular grinds.
Today, back on the road bike, tail winds all the way. Thames Path and Richmond Park were particular highlights...
Fingers crossed for a switcheroo this eve...

Going up Sunderland Road, Forest Hill, yesterday I was surprised to see two cars travelling downhill towards me perfectly in parallel. Took a second to realise what I was seeing before heading for the kerb sharpish. Some kind of cockeyed overtaking manoeuvre it appears.
By contrast this morning's theme was 'abrupt 3 point turns'

Headwind + start of horrible (possibly life-threatening) cold = 3/10

Waiting behind several cars in primary at light to turn left and then immediately right, a motorbike pulls up to me left and stops too, fair enough I suppose, but as we pull off he's still to me left and then starts trying to muscle in on the lane. I hold my ground and he has to drop in behind me to take the right, but when we get round it, there he is again! The road bears left and I'm still within metres of the car ahead. I tell him 'mate you shouldn't be undertaking people, and he replies 'hold on, hold on, 'cause I'm gonna push you off'. Nice, total twunt, and after that as we got round the corner and a gap emerged he nearly accelerated straight into the front of an HGV, which he couldn't see because of his shit road positioning.
Twat!
aaand relax.

This morning, while commuting the internet, I found this story on an Italian newspaper.
Later, which means now, I have translated the caption with google translator and it sound something like this:Big Trash Animals is the series of murals of Portuguese street artist Boralo II . His giant animals are composed of recycled materials : bumpers damaged in garbage cans until the burning tires . " The idea is to represent nature , in this case animals , with the elements that are responsible for its destruction ," says the author on his official Instagram page . The goal is to put the spotlight on a problem often forgotten , that of the production of waste , materials not reused , pollution and its devastating effect on the planet.
I thought to have these murals exposed on our streets would alleviate the pain generated by commuting with twerps illustrated by the materials of the murals.

I bet The Telegraph would also agree with me.

I thought you were crying over the Top Gear presenter jeans.

Oh, if someone want to see the story of
Big Trash Animals coming to life tanks to waste
a bit like the Conservative and their electors that's not my fault, I didn't mean it in that way, if not I wouldn't say that The Telegraph would agree.
Have we established that Oval is a clusterfuck yet?
