Did you really strava/garmin a hire bike commute??
Yep. Forerunner 110 makes it very easy. I garmin my 5-a-side games too (but don't upload them to Strava) to keep track of how far I run (and keep an eye on my HR).

Have had to come into the office today, did my normal commute if only it was like this every day, lite traffic, no other cyclist all the lights were on green. Knocked 15 minutes off my commute time.

^ If London is anything like Glasgow, Sunday's are even better.
I enjoyed the weekend commute this morning too though and through a combination of clothing, weather and leaving in plenty of time found myself toasty warm but not boil in bag sweaty. 10/10 would cruise again.

I resent giving my money to campagnolo. They're shit.
Might just get 105 as cable pull is same on 11.

I have been absolutely LOVING commuting lately. Freelancing rules for this cos there's no grinding repetition - I often set off for town and freestyle my route as I go, which is really stimulating, trying to join up my favourite cuts and lines through London's Famous London to get me to today's destination.
Riding London's Heaviest Tourer ™, a bit too much gear in the wet here and there, I'm generally slow, pretty engaged with what's going on, and absolutely loving it.
Hardly any grumpiness at the Numpoton, except ALLTHEFUCKINGSQUEAKYSQUELCHYGRINDYBROWNCHAINS.

Got to work, realised I have forgotten keys. Call someone to arrange drop off and figure I'll grab some milk, go to lock bike, don't have keys.

• #3683
They're now exactly the same cable pull huh?
That give me some ideas actualy, campag hood with shimano drivetrain..
-
• #3684
jtek shiftmate has always been there if you want to mix and match...
-
• #3685
Got to be man. Been interchanging cassettes, so if that works fine, same spacing between cassettes, then cable pull is same.
-
• #3686
Not quite the right logic, just because the spacing is similar (note - they're not 100% identical), doesn't mean the cable pull on derailleur are the same.
E.g. Shimano 10spd MTB derailleur doesn't work with 10spd road shifter.

• #3687
Oh. Okay. Well maybe I'll try it.
-
• #3688
If that were the case, we'd be able to mix and match SRAM with Shimano.

I get you, my misunderstanding! Sadly.

Thanks, but I'll just fork up for some 11sp campag when I have some money.

Hello commuting raconteurs.
I'm doing a small design project and doing some research about different types of cycling. If anybody would be so kind as to respond to some questions I'd appreciate it and can guarantee* you'll never hit another pothole or get another puncture again.

Strange one this morning. Saw lots of people who don't seem to value the longterm mobility of their joints wearing short shorts. Some with no gloves. How?
-
• #3699
wearing short shorts... How?
Because we like short shorts

Wore my Rapha winter tights today, which have wind proof panels in the front and standard Lycra at the back- disconcerting feeling of having a bare arse for the first five minutes of the ride.
Get the lower end version to ride on for now?
