Quiet, nice weather. Lovely. Only altercation I witnessed was two pedestrians who walked smack into each other, who then shouted for the other one to get out of 'their way' (reminiscent of the north/south going Zax from Dr Seuss). Made me chuckle.

Police outside embankment station, river side, looked to be covering up a bloke (pedestrian) on the pavement with a sheet. Nobody else immediately nearby. No idea what happened. :(

I had a really close close pass this morning, close enough for me to pull up next to the driver at the lights, knock on the window before opening the door and telling them how dangerous their driving was.
I've never done this before and usually try to stay zen, but this was a completely unnecessary pass about 2 inches from my bars at around 40mph, despite the fact i was in a (shit painted line) cycle lane and there were no oncoming cars, plus a queue of cars at a red light just up the road.
i was calm and polite, driver didn't even respond.
fucking zombie. -

Been there. You just can't help some dozy cunts. Fingers crossed they find a rogue chain link in their lunch.

The ones that drive like a twat because they can, yeah they're bad, but at least they aren't actually trying to hit you.
The ones who almost hit you, but didn't mean to, but are extremely sorry once they realise that it was a bit close, just a mistake. Its those ones, the total zombie's who have absolutely zero idea they've nearly ended your existence are the ones that get me. Did something similar to you and notified them of my dissatisfaction, but in a controlled manor to be honest, could have actually gone off at the deep end on them and been quite fine with the outcome! But nope, just had a quiet word. They got so spooked that they almost managed to run over a dog walker on a pavement in order to escape my quiet word (steering wheel was turned in a direction they were not expecting!), then sped off.
An hour later was on the same bit of road going the other way back from a task, and spotted police, who then did a quick u'ey and pulled me over (never been pulled over on a bike, was quite funny), and accused me of all sorts. Suggested they pull up the CCTV from the cafe that it 'all happened outside of'. They spent a lot of effort making sure to waste as much of my time as poss before actually going to look at cafe footage. So yeah, they had 1) come unbelievably close to wasting me 2) taken massive offensive at being brought up on it 3) actually driven on a pavement, nearly hit a ped and a dog and then a parked car 4) lied to police on the phone I imagine and had the balls to sit in the car the whole time while I then got pulled an hour later, still sticking to the lie, until I luckily spotted camera outside the cafe/shop. 5) I bet you they still think they were in the right.
These ones are the worst. Certainly responsible for many RTC + deaths every single year.

First commute after covid this morning. Left it a week before trying.
Lovely morning for cs7 and seemed quiet for cars anyway.
Legs feel a bit wobbly now. -

I had some really mental bloke actually park his car and follow me (and my girlfriend and baby) into a shop filming himself ranting about how I'd used a zebra crossing wrong (seems pedestrians should give way to cars on zebra crossings in his world).
I wonder if at some point he looked back at the video and thought "fuck me, I'm a dick". I suspect not.

Great to see so many cyclists out this morning, but what carnage honestly. 10 cyclists myself included nearly got taken out crossing the road on CS6 by a delivery cyclist RLJing down Farringdon st, a MGIF BMW driver on CS1 who ended up making about 4 meters of progress and then holding everyone up because they got stuck.
Things are pretty much back to normal..

Lovely this morning and considerably milder than previous mornings. Will do an extended route on the way home. Usual knobs about with a few close passes. Hey ho.

First commute in ages. I stop behind a van and some dopey git on a bike clips me, snapping off my bottle cage.
Bring back lockdown I say.
