  • Pretty rubbish commute home yesterday - driver turned right across me without looking & drove into me. Just superficial injuries to me - grazed knuckles, bashed knee & shoulder - & weirdly no damage to the bike other than the seatpost being knocked to the side.

Annoyed with myself for not getting their numberplate. They were originally repentant, but then went defensive, but ultimately knew they were in the wrong & cleared off. Checked this morning & there's no CCTV in the area.

All I can hope is that they learnt a lesson & will look more in future. The dent in their bonnet will cost more to fix than I will this time.

  • a week off the bike due to working away, feels somewhat colder yesterday but ok today,
passed an on-fire ford focus just before the fire engines blocked the road. - thankfully all ok, but drivers seem to lose thier shi* when there is something that could potentially stop them for more than a few mins getting to work and seem to loose all thought about looking in mirrors etc etc

  • Helmet Camera thread >>>

  • My hypothesis is that the cost function drivers are attempting to maximise is instantaneous speed. Under these circumstances, flooring it to overtake 50m from a red light makes sense. They could be going faster Right Now.

  • This is why we have Brexit.

  • FYI for anyone in SE 15 - a friend and neighbour was tasered and had his bike nicked last night on Peckham Rye. They stopped him for directions then tasered him in the neck. There have been a few aggressive bike thefts in Peckham recently - stay safe.

  • "Whatthefuckareyougoingtodo?Drive*over*thebus?!"

  • Tasers? dafuq?

Are they legal? Where can I get some?

  • Yup. Taser is what he said.

  • Jesus Christ. Hope they're okay

  • He's ok. Bit shaken obviously. All that for a 7 year old cheap Giant hybrid.

  • Scary, glad he's OK.

Was it inside the park? I rode past Peckham Rye on the way to and from Brockley Drinks last night, but fortunately nothing of the sort was encountered along the perimeter.

  • Just on the perimeter - near the estate on the way up the Rye

  • Ah, sounds as if my timing was luckier than his. Here's hoping they catch them and confiscate the Taser.

  • F@ck1ng 1°C this morning. Cue desperate digging around in drawers for gloves etc. Still, instant rewards as I was almost alone on the way in to work.

  • I cut my way through the Heras fencing and Chapter 8 barriers blocking the canal tow path route by the Princess of Wales this morning.
(Swann-Morton retractable scalpel, delivers cable tie death, for those who need to know)
    Embarrassed?

    Not really

ETA - it was water on a path.
I wonder what, whoever did the risk assessment for this, does when it rains....

  • Why have KIng’s college blocked the (really shitty cos everyone parks on it - but still useful) cycle route that lets you cut through to Denmark hill from Coldharbour Lane? Sad!

A while ago I emailed Lambeth about a section of road that I thought was potentially dangerous for various reasons, they never replied properly but have in the last couple of weeks laid down a whole load of speed bumps along the entire stretch. I think it’ll help.

Must of had a few other concerned residents also contact them!

  • It looked much drier at 12.30 today when I ran past

  • dodgy half warm tuna pannini at lunch almost made appearance twice on the commute home.........shudder

  • took a train this morning. Shout out to the utter fucking specialist who sat opposite me and proceeded to cough half masticated cold porridge in my direction because mummy never taught you to cover your fucking mouth. Offering me out on a moderately packed train when told, politely i hasten to add, to be mindful of other passengers, is never a strong look.

here's hoping you and your wanky little child's push scooter thing wind up in a fucking canal.

    cunt.

  • Do people legitimately use folding scooters!?

  • Apparently so. Ive seen a load of them, battery powerrd ones, on my commute recently.

  • Also train cunt today. Spray porridge on this fucker opp... jokes but did report a van for running a red light on the crossing I was using. The fucker parked up a couple of minutes later at the station to collect money. Some kind of shitty armoured car from RMS Group Services.

  • Unexpected detour through Battersea Park last night. Cops had closed Chelsea Embankment because of an accident involving what looked like a bin lorry.
