I tried that put it turned out I had bought fresh sausages to a frozen sausage party. I didn't half feel silly

Just come off. Currently waiting for my other half to bring me some trainers so I can walk/stumble home.
Nobody else involved thankfully. 1st day riding a bike I just bought on here. Turns out the chainring is pretty severely worn but I hadn’t noticed. Coming up to some lights I gave a little boost to get through before they turned to Amber, cranks completely spun around and I went over the bars. Hit my head pretty hard but had a helmet on and cut my knee moderately bad. Could have been a lot worse considering it was a straight, flat and clear road so I was probably going 25mph when it happened -

Ouch
Heal up fastDid you live up to your name and DAS?

Ooff, sounds nasty. Hope all injuries are superficial and you heal quickly.

A nice glass of beer or wine should numb things a little. Heal quick!

Thanks guys, my head hurts. Cracked open the helmet and broke my Chinese Oakleys in half. Otherwise just very achey and a nasty road rash. Plenty of pedestrians stopped to check I was ok.
Bike is mostly fine too, Specialized Power saddle is fucked, come off it’s rails. And I guess that means my Chinese carbon seatpost should also go in the bin. Mudguard also for the bin.
Could have been a lot worse considering similar accident to our spotter and he ended up in hospital and surgery -

Glad you're not too badly hurt even more glad you had a helmet on. Which bike was it?
-
• #19516
Ow. Good that you're (reasonably) ok. Might buy a hard hat now....
-
• #19517
Me too! Pinnacle Arkose, first day riding it. Don’t trust the drivetrain on it now so will be switching it out. Still got those rival levers?
-
• #19518
I do indeed. Send me a PM

Had a little 'chat' with a moped who sped past using the horn behind me because I was in primary (which according to him I shouldn't be because all us cyclists think we're formula 1 drivers? ) on Pancras Rd. Honestly don't see the point in calling out bad behaviour when the conversation immediately turns to insults.

Waiting at the lights to turn onto Hornsey Road I heard this guy screaming 'COME ON!' at the traffic before I even saw his car come round the corner. Had his kid with him in the front seat who looked bug-eyed and must have been absolutely deafened. Hell of a school run.

Ouch. Heal up quickly.
Chilled ride in aside from the cockwomble in the focus estate who close passed me at two different pinch points. Fool started to hold back when I pointed out he was on camera(s). Will report later.

Reach your hand into your pants, fiddly around a bit, then hold your open palm up like you're going to smear something on them. Works every time...
-
• #19523
You shipped the chain? Is it geared or fixed?
-
• #19524
Geared. I’ve no idea what happened other than the cranks spun as if there was suddenly no resistance. Chain was off and inboard once I picked the bike up. Chainring teeth are very pointy and short.

could it have slipped down on the rear cassette so the chain slackened suddenly?
No I can't say I have lol and none of those parental parameters excuse sticking your pram into the road so you can see better and effectively use your precious new life as a lollipop lady....
Mistake my arse.
