Glasses blew off my face cycling past a pet crossing at archway, cue scrambling around like Velma from Scooby Doo. Asked about 10 people who were waiting at the crossing if they'd help me have a quick look and just looked at me like I'd asked them to eat a baby. had to schlep back to Hornsey to grab my other pair.

A rare tailwind! Light traffic! Great ride until I got to the clusterfuck that was Borough this morning. A presumed earlier crash had left a giant oil slick all over the junction and rush hour traffic was having to filter past the fire engine mopping it up. Would have been a really fast ride if not for having to thread the gridlock needle for the last mile.

what time was this? i saw the spill from borough up to liverpool st to the junction of kingsland road, assumed a bus.
-
• #16733
I would have gone through at around 8:30. I imagine a few people must have gone down before the slick was coned off.

I went through much earlier 730/745

In US schools they don't teach Sex ed and there's high levels of teen pregnancies etc...
So by simply sweeping it under the rug/pretending it doesn't exist doesn't tackle the real issue.
People should be exposed, then disgusted.
I far prefer a fascist to put their art in a gallery that I can avoid. Rather than paint it on my street, or do worse.

good for you. be sure to let us know what it is you expect to learn from a fascist 'art' exhibition that you don't already know.
it's shit like this treats the malignant rise of popular fascism like some sort of curiosity, which i spose it is if you're unlikely to be affected by it.
anyway. im sure there's a thread for this.

We stopped arguing yesterday. You brought it up again.
In other news, there's always a bigger issue. Thinking like that is a reciepe for indifference.

Dominic Lawson in today's Mail says paedophile investigations are the reason cyclists get away with breaking the law. Me neither.
-
• #16744
Obviously law breaking cyclists are not paedos hence why yewtree hasn't reduced the number of cyclists on the road. Jimmy Savile* being the exception to the rule.
*Daily Fail logic

Nice that he links it back to Saville but fails to come to the obvious conclusion that as a keen cyclist he did what he did over several decades so as to overwhelm the police to the point where they can no longer go after cyclists committing minor traffic infringements.

These, along with the blossom trees, also made my commute much more pleasant.

Fucking pollen!

Messy on the roads. Quiet around Regents Park. Almost windless. Did the miles event/shout free so 7/10.

2 days on a frankly OTT carbon commuter and now going back to the heaviest Pompino with Marathon Plus's was a shock.
Nice bit of light cool rain though. 7/10.

BBC weather app can >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> and then it can spend 20 minutes drying my keks under a hand dryer. "Light rain between 10 and 12 my damp arse!
That's the plan!
On a bus now.
