I've had to lower my standards in recent years. Although trouble does seem to seek me out still. I can't help thinking if I was of the fairer sex, I wouldn't have illicited the same reaction in the first place. After all, it was just a miscalculation on my part that started it

Next thing they all dropped their bins and started chasing me
of the fairer sex....

This morning I failed to notice that one cleat bolt was missing from the cleat in my left shoe.
Cue massive and sudden catastrophic failure to unclip at the lights on the north side of Vauxhall Bridge - I turned my foot to unclip and the cleat stayed where it was, as I slowly toppled sideways in amongst aprox. 1 miiiillion nodders.
Broken spoke, grazed knee and ruined pride.
Meh. -

some pedestrian tried to pick a fight with me yesterday morning in the lift at the southern end of greenwich foot tunnel - he was throwing a strop and having a go at other cyclists that they weren't getting in and out of the lift quick enough and holding him up. i questioned him (I said "really?" when he had a go at one cyclist) and he did the whole "come over here and say that" and "keep your nose out of other people's business" so i just replied that he's the one shouting at other people who are innocently on their way to work, and if he was in such a hurry why didn't he get the DLR, or leave the house earlier. at which point he tried to pick a fight with the cyclist stood next to him. i think his girlfriend then must have told him to calm down as he was nowhere to be seen at the northern lift.

^^Clearly as you overtook the driver of lorry thought "oh I'll just drift over a bit to give this mad fast cyclist a bit more room". Arched bridge with low spots away from the centre. Lorry spong. Your fault!

I was driving today.

although my general commute is from waaay SW, the leg of the journey involving cycling from the beginning of King's Road, the end where all those weird antique shops are to my journey's end point at Royal Albert Hall is always a mixture of traffic clusterfuck/pathetically integrated cycle lanes resulting in feeling like you've been pooped out of a dragon's arse.

I carried my new bike back on the tube last night and then caught the tube back in this morning. I have felt tired all day. I blame the Tube, obviously.

couldn't you get arrested for carrying a shiv in public?
-
• #165
While cycling home yesterday I got called a twat by a pedestrian. Fair enough.

Came to a bewildering conclusion that my 25 yr old steel frame feels nicer than a much more modern Carbon fiber of the same sorts
Same parts shared between the two were Complete drive train not including bottom bracket and the saddle
Lusting for Columbus tubing now that i've seen the light
-
• #168
That because the carbon fibre was a time trial bicycle that's not exactly designed for touring Skirt Love.

my badd
what a difference in feel though
same gear ratio and more weight>lighter weight frame with tight Geo?
-
• #170
more weight does not make the bicycle worse, weight have a smaller impact whether the geometry make the biggest difference.

I used clipless pedals while fixed for the first time today. What better place to try this for the first time than Kings Cross?
So. Much. Terror.
From Lambo to bin lorry, why is your standard slipping?
