What's the general opinion regarding
- people on longboards
- people on rollerblades
- people on scooters
Using the cycle lanes? Specifically the one up and over Blackfriars bridge? Seen a few people doing this recently and can't decide if they're knobs or not
- people on longboards

I generally like people on rollerblades just because they look like they are having the best time ever. I'm not enjoying the resurgence of hipsters on skateboards though. They make me feel very uncomfortable to cycle near.

A while back I saw some dude styling it out on propper roller skates up Oxford Street complete with 80's ghetto blaster pumping out some tunes. He was owning it and I was impressed.
Last week in Kingston I saw a long boarder end up fully broadsiding a motorbike pulling out from a space adjacent to the cycle path he was smashing it along. Looked significantly less cool. Motorbiker's fault though.
I understand this in no way answers @Miitch 's question but felt I should contribute.

Alternative question
Are the footways clear enough for them to smash along or would they pose a greater risk to peds than cyclists pose to them if they use the cycle lane.

Anyone see what led to the motorcycle down about 500m south of Blackfriars bridge this evening? Was on the opposite side of the road from the cycle lane around 6:45pm.

I had to drive in London today and I have a new empathy for taxi drivers. No amount of money could persuade me to drive on a regular basis.

Longboarders: I reckon live & let live. We are comrades awheel.*
*I used to commute on a skateboard. For years. Never had any tangles with bikes. Trees, though ...

What's the hardest thing about rollerblading?

Telling your mum or something.

Sorry about the rain this morning guys, I was mulling over cleaning my bike and putting my crabon wheel on last night. Must have angered the rain gods.

I enjoyed it. The roads were empty for the first half of my ride.

• #14668
Trying to adjust my foggy glasses mid-trackstand ruined my no-unclipping-combo at the last set of traffic lights though.

Telling your dad is harder imo

One of the few days each year that I can bring out all the equipment and it shines.
Arrived at work dry and happy.
The Robin Mather has:
- Full mudguards
- Disc brakes
- Rohloff
- Dynamo light
And then I had:
- Brooks cape (the Boultbee one)
- Shoe covers
Aside from a little rain on my chin and shins, I was dry as a bone.
I also wore a smug grin the whole way.
- Full mudguards

Did the long route in and enjoyed it rather a lot. Was on my full mudguarded sensible commuter with discs, so the discs saved my bacon when a lady tried to kill me with her car, the only thing that put a downer on it was getting a puncture on the Embankment just after Albert Bridge, but my cockles were warmed by a fellow cycle commuter in full waterproofs stopping to ask if I needed help.
Edit: Had some cycle safety guys come in to my work last week, giving out free lights and hi-vis stuff, got a couple of sets of lights. Tried to use the front blinky flashy one today to find it doesn't work, at all. gr9 safety lads.

Is your cape the cotton or polyamide Boultbee one?

Have to emergency stop due to pump falling off my bike.
Cue 10 or so people nearly crashing behind me because their brakes don't work in the wet as well as they think.
A1, excellent work.

Wrong bike = wet bum.
Soss sandwich to make up for it though so 7/10

They should stay in kindergarten.
same with me @Jingle_Jangle - ride home , sunny, fog lifted, warm , light winds, lovely, just minding my own business on main A road out of inverness climbing up round a bend, nob in red polo gti went for overtake in oncoming traffic and put me on the very edge of a ditch (we dont have curbs or pavements on some A roads up ere!) , i shouted "heyyyyyyyyyyy" he middle fingered out the window, so i returned the favour, screeeeeech, out he pops shouting about something, tell him he fecking cut me into the ditch, he walks into my path, i had to swerve into the middle of the road, cars screeching behind and in front, "tells me to get off the feckin road" , last i see of him - nob!!!!
