The other night I was on my way to meet a mate for a meal and sherbets. Filthy weather pissing down with rain, walked to pedestrian crossing as I step up lights turn red for traffic.
Myself, 2 other peds, and a cyclist head across.
The light had been solid red for at least 2 seconds.
I spotted a car in the far carriageway doing just over 30 and with clearly no intention of stopping.
The cyclist had his hood up and was moving quicker than the rest of us and the other peds had clocked the car.
I calculated he was about to meet his maker and had not seen the car.Look out....... nothing
LOOK OUT!!!!!!!!
Cyclist stopped, car sailed through not missing a beat.He would have been dead or seriously injured.
Cyclist thanked me and seemed slightly stoned.

Good going!
My good guy deed was picking up someone's phone that clattered to the floor as they were running for the bus, and slinging it through the bus window to them when I caught the bus up 👍

Lovely Monday morning for a Hit and Run:
...undertaken by a moped where there was nae room for a moped on Old Kent Road - The moment I notice him accelerating through I suddenly go FLYING and amazingly the clip out of the bike...which goes flying into traffic... I skid to the curb (sans bike).
A M A Z I N G help from a young female cyclist who retrieved my bike and THREE motorcyclists - one with GoPro saying he'll get the footage to me, another for a witness who then speeds off to and comes back with the bastards Registration, and ANOTHER turns up later with the Reg too..
cue police, who look him up on their in car system and wooop - coke and heroin dealer with multiple incidents of assaulting police. ID: VIOLENT
guess he had an interesting day when he got ARRESTED again...probably.
A&E straight to X-RAY NO BREAKS and Discharged with codydraLOL -

Wet start, mudguards did there thing.
Then a run into the City in a works vehicle.
I drove around the Elephant Castle roadworks.
I now understand some of the chatter on here about the mess.
Rather than do it again we chopped up to Bigben, hang right and pootle down embankment, the nice caff opposite the needle appeared to be shut :( sat in traffic, only spotted a couple of SS'ers and maybe one fixed. -

Nice dry night with a lovely full moon.
Passing a bunged up road on the way to the gym. Teehee... ^_^
Though Wed-Fri I'm stuck in it due to the school run O_o -

Hit wet manhole cover while cornering. Front wheel slid out, luckily just a little bit and I managed to stay on the bike.
Mini heart attack though.

Approaching a zebra crossing on Southwark Bridge Road. Ped waiting to cross. I stop.
4 riders go past my right shoulder, 1 past my left.
Ped crosses. I attempt a smile and a nod. Nothing.
Have a nice day you grumpy prick.

Lovely ride into work today, have a little race with a fellow morning rider from canning town to old street, (he won) so unfit but it was nice to get the old legs and heart racing once again.

First commute in on the bike today... all went well apart from nearly not being able to unclip at the top of Elgin Ave... realised how buses just pull out on everyone which is mildly disconcerting

Found my front wheel punctured this morning.
Replaced the tube and made what I thought was a tiny adjustment to my hub cones...Rode uphill all the way in.

Had to take my daughter to dentist in Crouch End. Spend 1hr 20min sitting in traffic and missed the appointment. Seems that I'd managed to forget all the reasons why I avoid driving in rush hour. Now remembered.

Props to/astoundment at the bloke on the Halfords circa-94 MTB who was bombing it down a very dark North Bridge in Edinburgh the other night. His choice of front light? A torch, clamped solidly between his teeth. Alas, not horizontally, à la Bond villain, more front-on like fixing a fuse-box or fellating a MagLite.

I saw a girl on an all city space horse get rear ended at the turn off of liverpool rd and holloway rd this morning. She wasn't injured but her rear wheel moved and I think the bike was damaged. The driver stopped and so did I. I gave the girl my mobile no as a witness and is seen the driver on his mobile seconds before and he hadn't indicated before turning right.
The driver became very agressive to me, calling me nosey and threatening me unless I move on as he said it was no business of mine. I gave the girl my number, confirmed she was ok and left, she was still talking with the driver.
I haven't heard from her so I guess she's sorted it or isn't pressing anything. I still sort of feel like I should report it incase she hasn't and that the driver should be reprimanded at least for abusing me. Is there any way I can do this - like an address I can email just so it's recorded somewhere?
This week I are mostly be wishing I had a job to go to.
