Also, once we reach the the last few rounds, if 2 teams are both through, or can't qualify any more, then that game will be skipped. At least that's how I understand it.

John, that's what we were going to do if we had more teams (what we expected) and went with original Swiss Rounds plan.
As it is, everyone will play everyone, super accurate and we have time for it, so why not. Should be fun and no there'll be no winging about any "lucky" routes to qualification.

^ Oops that was in response to the finish early "i would like this: hoping to get pissed early / play cosmic, that is if its ok with the 3?"

• #206
Its a qualification not tournament. If we can finish more quickly, I think we should. And 12 tense games over 8 hours is a lot.

I'm fairly sure that you cannot finish early with a round robin... it would require the random pairing of a team that can no longer "not qualify" (as they have X number of points already) to play a team that can no longer "qualify" (as they have 0 - or very little - number of points already), this isn't particularly likely.. but yeah, we can possibly skip a few games in rounds 10, 11 and 12, but "qualified" (or "not qualified") teams may still be required to play if they are drawn against a team that are still fighting in the mid table, etc.
As (in my mind) we won't be able to skip a substantial number of games, I just thought it would be easier to keep playing. You're not playing that often after all (each round lasts ~84 minutes).
12 tense games
Who are you seeing as the easy 13th game then?

Snotty, if no one else has space, you're welcome at mine. Seems like Rupert and I are the only two people housing right now?

Yeah, I thought I posted that. Only games that could be skipped would be those between clear qualifiers and non -qualifiers.

+1,
Absolutely, everyone has to have the same change to qualify, but as Horatio says, what I said above, this only applies to games between 2 teams where both teams have either already qualified, or can no longer qualify.
In reality this won't occur until the last few rounds, so we can just make a call then, as to how much time we have left. I literally don't care, I was just saying I thought that was what the plan is.

Ha, if anything else comes along that sounds like it may be more comfortable take it (I can only offer a floor, but that's better than a bridge!). If not, drop me a PM and I'll send you my address/number.
Werd.

It is training. We should play all the games. Do it for London.

Speaking of London, what is the problem here? As I said I already have someone (non-polo) at mine too. Surely someone else can step up and host?
